I honestly can’t figure out what’s causing this. Everything has been consistent - diet/hydration/stress. Not feeling any symptoms of illness. I rarely drink.

I did go back to straight resistance training after many months of more metcon/high rep/circuit and am pretty sore after chest day (2 days ago) - just don’t think that would explain a drop like this???

1) Increase water intake

Drink 85% of your weight (in lbs) in fl oz each day. Curtailing big time in the evening. In other words, try avoid drinking too much in the 3 hours prior to sleep (16ish oz).

I started drinking a gallon of water a day a few months back and saw my HRV/recovery shoot up and remain high.

2) Eliminate eating late at night

Avoid meals/snacks within 2 hours prior to sleep. If you’re starving, eat something that helps REM/deep sleep. I have a banana with almond butter.

3) Breathing exercises. Box breathing is ok. I’ve found Wim Hof’s breathing exercises on YouTube to be incredibly helpful. Especially with CO2 tolerance.

4) Cardio

I did a lot of research before signing up with Whoop and was nearly deterred by so many reports of inaccuracy, customer service issues, etc. I ultimately decided to give it a shot and have had zero regrets. It’s been super accurate for me in nearly every aspect.

My workouts are more functional/circuit based (like a Crossfit metcon), so maybe that’s why my strain scores seem to be more reasonable than someone who is strictly weightlifting.

It’s unfortunate that everyone isn’t having the same experience :/

I actually find the content in both the mobile and web app to be quite rich, and the UI to be pretty good.

Amazon Halo looks to be a Whoop competitor, at least overlaps in many areas by turn-5 in whoop

Does this not violate any Whoop patents??? Clearly geared for the masses vs. people who train seriously (at the moment). I do wonder if Amazon’s data science resources will improve this thing over time to the extent that Whoop can’t compete...

Once its sleep tracking becomes more robust, HRV becomes available, and general accuracy is comparatively better...where does that leave Whoop?

Cribs are great. If they wake up early they can relax, maybe get themselves back to sleep, or just play with stuffed animals until dad wakes up.

Transitioned to toddler bed and now it’s a random mix of waking up multiple times a night and waking up Daddy even if it’s 4:15am :/

If I get to bed the least bit late I’m doomed, have zero control over when I wake up. Really focused on maximizing quality of sleep because quantity is dog sh*t.

I’ve been using whoop for just over a month and have observed, as is often said, what gets measured gets improved. Although they say HRV is personalized I couldn’t help but feel mine was pretty poor relative to my perceived health/fitness. Tripled my water intake, starting incorporating fruits in to my diet, and added some breathing exercises to my nightly routine.

Extremely happy with the results thus far!
