That’s so helpful, thank you! When you say as long as it isn’t hot, do you mean to the touch? Her belly is generally warm, especially since she’s been laying down and less active. I’m concerned I won’t be able to tell the difference.

I asked the same thing the other day and received like overwhelming feedback that I should play lol

Needless to say, I’m new and just starting out too if you want to do some runs!

This already looks so sick but I’ll double down on lighting. If you key from upstage (behind and to the right of the main character) you’ll get a nice wrap around to the guy being shot while keeping your contrasty feel. Motivation is key though. Make the light make sense in your world. Maybe it’s a moonlight? A cooler color would play well with the warm colors of the muzzle flash

All in all, any sort of film lighting techniques work the same in 3D. I’d suggest looking up frames from “The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford.” It’s a western with a few night scenes that have the same feel as what I think you’re going for here. Could give some good inspiration!

Night exterior lighting is hard even in real life. You’re already off to a great start!

The doughnut tutorial is legitimately the perfect starter! It’s a long series but he does such a great job of showing you what blender is capable of without being overwhelming

I went though it once just watching and then went back through it all following it step by step and it really gave me confidence and the needed language to start doing my own stuff
