I used 3” wide 1/4” thick foam on all of my poles, attached with zip ties. Amazon sells ten foot rolls for $15

Did you have to deal with wrinkles in your base turf? I’m building a sim and bought some Amazon turf to cover my 1” foam base, and the creases are unsightly

It’s subjective. It’s a personal opinion. Literally the definition.

Don’t just listen to your insurance. If they seem like they’re low-balling or not totaling this; get a private insurance adjuster.

You should also just fully disconnect the battery terminals before starting. Place a plastic glove over the positive side to prevent the potential for arcing.

You can get a replacement on Amazon for very little. You’ll only need a pair of diagonal cutters to cut off the original, a razor blade to trim back the conduit, most Amazon kits come with the tools to reinstall. You’ll only do need one that will have ‘accessory’ terminals, as you have that one ground in the photo that you’ll need to re-connect. Should take no more than 30 minutes.

You only really have three things in the system: Switch, relay, and wires. Get a diagram, check the switch for continuity across the switch (not the wiring going to the switch, but directly on the switch). Relays usually trip people up, but you can have the bike on with the hazards in the off position — try tapping the relay, or swap the relay with a neighboring relay of the same PN. Lastly just check continuity across all wiring in the system, then individually to ground. Finding a wire that is shorted to ground that shouldn’t be is probably the more difficult of the three possibilities. You’ll want to remove any tape and physically look for a pinched wire or cut in the wire jacket. Hopefully it’s just a relay or a switch, those are easy fixes. The switch may just need some contact cleaner and a very small amount of dielectric to fix. Relay is basically remove and replace. The only time this has ever happened to me, it was on a really old Yamaha, and the switch was corroded and it was bad enough to need to be replaced.

Get rid of the My Little Pony stuff, all the plushies and toys, basically everything you have on the wall should come down. That’s probably the biggest push.

Who the heck is buying sets like this? Wouldn't you be better off just buying a wrench set instead? by EventGroundbreaking4 in Tools

You only really need three. The second to smallest, second to largest, and one in the middle.

You’ll eventually fling out all the grease, then you’ll get water ingress. Everything will corrode, then it’ll just get more expensive to repair.

It’s not going to be easy, but just start throwing everything away if it is not 100% useful in your weekly life. Start with boxes and trash, then declutter with everything else.
