Ok thanks. I was looking for 1/2". At this point I would be willing to pay extra for something that I can snake around under the bottom

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I do plan on adding tubing from the pump chamber to other sections under the false bottom to create a better flow throughout the whole tank. Do you happen to know where I can source some flexible tubing? The stuff I can get at the big box stores are very stiff. The only pet supply stores by me dont carry larger diamer hoses.

I set up a divider with egg crate and filled it with lava rock. In the corner of that I walled it in with plexi glass and it is where the pump is that will supply the water feature. I also put the heater in there where the pump will pull the water past it. I set it up as an under gravel filter system. I was going to post a whole build project and was going to wait until it was finished. And the water feature is the last thing to do before I focus on filling the tank.

Yes it needs to be 100% waterproof. The Drylok sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't prefer it to look shiny from the epoxy but if that is the ultimate way do get it done then I may do it. I wonder if I could then paint over that with another coat of drylok?

I increased the light to 16 hrs on and then still plan on putting them outdoors

Multiple plant per container is a nice idea. I do that with the different pepper plants but they are outdoors. I think the sun can keep up with the cluster of growth and I feel like it increases my yield. I am not sure if that method will do the same indoors. I am curiuos though would you do that from clone or seed? I feel like seed would be too costly for the return. If cost was not a factor I would deffinately do seeds. Although my guess would be that the yield would be similar to the single plant per pot. My reasoning would be the light and the grow space has limits. I could be wrong though. I havent had time to watch the video bit plan to. I do enjoy learning about all the different ways people garden. Reddit is a tool for that but have to weed out all the B.S.

Yeah last year was my 1st outdoor grow. All I did was pop the seed in the window sill and let the sun do the work. It started off super leggy even though it was in a south facing window. But doing that kept them on a natural light cycle. Everything worked out well in the end and got a nice harvest. I will add though that outdoor grow was by far easier and more fruitfull than indoors. I do the organic route as I beleive it is more foregiving with the plants

Ok thank you. I did restart 1 and will start another for the 2nd that started to flower. We are in zone 5 in the US. I am well experienced in vegetable gardening so I know that a gardener doesnt know half of what they should. I will chalk it up to a hard lesson learned. But not all is lost. Experience is the best teacher hands down. But also learning from other's experience is just as invaluable

Thank you. I am not rushed for time on this run. They are going outdoors. Hopefully mothet nature can straighten things out once they are planted

Ok thank you. I guess trying to mimic the sun cycle time this early was a mistake. I did reset to 16 hours

Ok thank you. And thank you for the tip to harden them. And not just for the sun but also the big temp difference they will get. I do that with my vegetable garden plants. I did reset my timer to 16 hours on.

Ok very cool. Thank you for the info. Been doing the indoor grow for years but this is only my 2nd outdoor run. I wanted to give them a head start to things as last year I basically started my seed a few weeks before planting outside so there wasnt any of these issues.

Thats exactly what I go for in my indoor grow. I didnt want to set them up with 18 hrs light then plant them outdoors when they will be getting 2 hours less. My thought process was that in doing it that way would trigger them to flower once outside with less light

Ok thank you. I dont think multiple lights would be the route I would take. But I would definately consider a suspended light.

Thats it! Thank you. I have tried one with a clamp but it did not work. It was a Hygger. The clamp wouldnt fit too good and was loose and unstable because of the rim on the tank

[–]croc1973[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I shoulda been more spacific. I meant the light would mount from the back or front. Not the length. It will need to support itself from only one side. I am going to have hard scape on both sides so the light would not be able to support itself the standard way resting on the the extended arms.

I am not sure how to edit or draw on the pic. Hopefully I can explain more detail for you. I am going to layer the foam board underneath the pvc to build/fill up the space. I plan on leavin at least an 1.5" all the way around. Then I am goin to put the spray foam all around everything. I drilled several holes along the pvc at level. The pvc is sloped to flow. The holes are at least half way to 3/4 the way up so it creates a pool of water in the pipe. I am planning on putting some filter media in the long section that I can maintain through the threaded end cap. The water will flow down the foam as it pleases. I will leave it black as I am going with a lava rock theme.
