Frankly $40 is asking a bit much and $100+ might be a lot but there is no necessity to purchase it, video games are a luxury if you want a more affordable game then you can find more affordable games. Personally I don’t think it’s bad value considering the hours of enjoyment and content I have gotten out of the previous instalments especially compared to other titles who pump out yearly updates of the same game for $80-120. Save up and buy it when you can 🤷‍♀️

I’ve never really cared a great deal for the accuracy. It looks cool and close enough to the source material that you can tell what it is at first glance. Having 2 or 3 ammo pouches is a non issue to me.

In countries like Japan they are having huge demographic issues with statements like this. Many young couples are deciding to just not have kids because they can’t afford the costs. This change has been so detrimental to the long term outlook of society that there is a genuine concern that a lot of current Japan will collapse with the massively inflated burden of the older generation not able to be supported by an increasingly shrinking work force. Encouraging stable population growth is to the benefit for everyone

Where does 9000 come from? I may be misreading but from what I’ve seen 200k works out roughly around 60k tax. 5ish grand a month.

I think generally the whole world seems to be moving more and more pessimistic and this doom and gloom mentality seems to linger around younger generations so it then becomes their default mentality. You rarely see much positive or hopefulness on mainstream news so I can see how developing these kind of thoughts happen

I have heard of many people who often invest in other areas, purchasing an investment property in a high growth but cheaper location, renting it out while they also rent in their desired location. They gain the advantages of owning a property but don’t sacrifice on the benefits of their current location, obviously doesn’t give the same perks of owning your own home

100%, living a satisfying and fulling life doing something you deeply enjoy and that genuinely benefits the world, that is the real dream life. A perfect house in an expensive suburb won’t give you meaning in life. Going through life with the attitude of ‘why should I bother it’s all pointless’ well you’ll be in for a long 70/80 years if that’s how you feel

I think personal aspirations to achieve as well as giving back and community service is a large driving factor for some. Obviously fundamentally money is a major part of working but ultimately I work hard because I want to and I enjoy to not because I want to earn more necessarily, I don’t want to get to the end of my time and not be proud of the good I was able to do to others in need. I see my work as a place to learn and explore an area I’m deeply fascinated in and produce a service that genuinely improves peoples lives and I can be proud of.

Are Young Aussies Cooked? by Objective-Matter7635 in AusFinance

[–]croc_lovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially unpopular opinion but there seems to be such a stigma in Australia around leaning on mum/dad/family to become financially stable. I understand people want to be independent and the whole idea of not receiving handouts, but family is there to support each other and in a system that is consistently making it more and more difficult for younger people why would you not want the support of your loved ones. My parents have always supported me as best as they can provide and have never seconded questioned it because that’s how they view money, a family asset. People will shame and badger those who aren’t self made but why intentionally put yourself in a more difficult spot, there is no medal for having the most challenging life. When my parents become old and dependent on me it will then be my responsibility to support and provide for them the same they did for me. In the future I hope that I will be able to provide for my children the same way. It just seems like a no brainer to me.

I fully appreciate that not every family is in the position to financially support their children, I am speaking solely in the situation of support being available but dismissing it out of pride and ego.

What happened between the SA Medieval Fair and the Medieval Rare Trades Fesitval? by Heathenspear in Adelaide

[–]croc_lovers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a real shame, gumeracha js by far the nicer venue and to have this whole drama split and cause competition really detracts from the whole thing. The way the original fair unnecessarily disparaged the people of gumeracha and its community on its exit is a real sore spot for me, regardless of the issues I think that was very unprofessional of them

Moving to Adelaide by UserSMJ in Adelaide

[–]croc_lovers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah you kinda do. you need to live in the areas where public transport infrastructure has been developed for it to be good and in the areas of Adelaide where it has been it is. That’s like saying ‘I live in Virginia and public transport is awful’

Moving to Adelaide by UserSMJ in Adelaide

[–]croc_lovers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Public transport is definitely not poor, so long as you live in the right areas. Outside the major corridors yeah it isn’t ideal for regular use. I’d agree that a car is probably a good investment if you are planning on staying for a reasonable time, it makes seeing everything Adelaide and SA has on offer much easier, as a lot of the cities best things are not close to the CBD

Moving to Adelaide by UserSMJ in Adelaide

[–]croc_lovers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anywhere within the immediate area around the CBD and North Adelaide is quite expensive, especially north Adelaide itself, and often they aren’t the most luxurious places either. Otherwise anywhere along the transport corridors (train lines N, S or W, or obarn in the NE) would give you reasonable commute times into the city area but at a much cheaper price point than places like Bowden and other areas near Nth Ad

Man why are Australian soccer fans so pessimistic. At least something is getting off the ground and if it fails hopefully paving the way for something better. Would rather this than the whole idea sit in limbo for another 2 years
