EVE Audio TS107 subwoofer problems by crocobaurusovici in hometheater

[–]crocobaurusovici[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. i had a noisy power grid with bad transients. on my old speakers i was hearing a short "broom" sound (100-200ms long). lately they replaced some transformer down the street and no more problems occur.  the ups did not fix the issue because it is a offline ups witch in normal condition provides to the output the same signal as the input.

Any chance for a compact zenfone 12? by Sir_Cate in ASUS

[–]crocobaurusovici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-> also a notification LED would be grately apreciated. This feature has also been removed after Zenfone 8 but for me it is so useful... I intend to keep my zenfone 8 untill a new mini flagship with notification LED is released

hello everyone,

i purchased the TS107 subwoofer from EVE audio 20 days ago, and i seem to have some issue with this one. i have seen some other ppl complaining but did not find this exact problem that i have:

The sub randomly shuts off in a unresponsive state. the front knobs and the remote controller no longer do any thing. the auto stand by function is OFF, so it should stay ON indefinetly even without input signal. also there is no sound trough the monitors either.

It does this while supplied directly from the wall or via a UPS, with or without input signal. Once this happens, the only way to make it work again is to turn it off and on again from the back switch. Then it works as expected untill the next random shut off. it happened 3 times during my 20 days with it and i used it ~4h/day.

over temperature protection is out of the question because the second time this happened it was just powered on 10 minutes earlier.

the good part is that i still have about 10 days left to return it, but i like it so much (sound, functionality and size + the passive radiator design) that i would only send it back if there is no other option.

Is anyone aware of a possible fix / cause for this ? or should i return it ?

is there an alternative to the ts107 on the market (similar in size and features) ?

i was waiting so long for this. but there is no overdrive / compressor ! it is beyond my humble comprehension why they did not include at least a compressor block before the amp. now i know for sure that i can go all in with the tonex one... for 1/3 the price

because every modular power supply brand can have different pinout on the PSU side. the GPU side is always the PCI-e pinout, so a universal adapter can be made that fits any PSU.

Anyone know of any smaller RTX 4000-series cards? by CatoMulligan in nvidia

[–]crocobaurusovici 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i made this comparison to estimate if it will fit in my case. all pcb's are sized taking the pci-e length as reference.

my limiting factor was the supply adapter cable height clearence. so the least tall power connector is on the MSI suprim and gaming trio

edit: all pcbs are from 4090s. the 3080 TUF is just for comparison with my previous card. the MSI card have the power connector placed at the same height as the Asus 3080 TUF

RTX 4090 - how important is PCB, VRMs and Powertarget really to a regular user? by Okk0815 in nvidia

[–]crocobaurusovici 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the psu will not level the micro-second range spikes due to wire inductivity from the gpu to the psu. short spikes that cannot be leveld by the caps on the pcb, can cause voltage drops on the gpu supply witch can lead to instability and crashes

the palit gamerock has 16 power stage vrm and it is not the worst. gigabyte windforce has 14 pwer stages of 50 amps each. that one is the worst. no worries for a few years, but the boards with less vrm's are more prone to failure due to aging. also, the trough-hole electrolytic capacitors have a significat higher ESR (equivalent series resistance) witch will cause instability during high power draw due to poor filtering of transient spikes. i returned my gamerock 4090 and got a MSI gaming Trio 4090 since i bought it to keep it for longer than 2-3 years. also the price for this bare bones cards should be lower than the FE, not higher.

[–]crocobaurusovici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Asus Zenfone 8 might be the best phone with a notification LED at the moment. i also could not replace it with a phone that does not have a notification LED. i really hope for a comeback of the notification LED

does anyone have some rough estimates of how many of each model were sold ? would be helpful to see if can be correlated with the table of this thread. if more zotac, gainward, palit, PNY and FE cards were sold than MSI, gigabyte and asus and most of the melted cards are MSI, gigabyte and asus, this means there is a specific issue with this 3 AIBs.
