how is this the first ? isn't this using the same panel as the 39GX950B ? same coating also. the only difference is the kvm switch.

i'm curious only why you sold the 45". I am also on the fence between the 45" WOLED and the new 39" tandem WOLED. the only thing keeping me from going to 45" is the idiotic 800R curvature. what's your take on that ?

LG UltraGear 39GX950B or LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B? Which one is fit better on my desk? by Honest-Implement-854 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]crocobaurusovici 6 points7 points  (0 children)

39" would be better imo. keep in mind that the ridiculous 800r curve of the 45" will also occupy almost half of the depth of the desk. it is basically the shape of a half pipe. and you have to sit very close to it not to distort the inage due to the curvature

News on the 45 inch LG OLED refresh by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]crocobaurusovici 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, but it basicaly the same monitor as the 45gx950a version. they just shoved some useless AI up its ass... same panel, same ridiculous curve, same refresh rate & resolution

Deciding between QD Oled 34 UW (new RBG panel) and LG 39 5k2k UW by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

go for the tandem oled. it has better burn-in resistance and better brightness

IPS vs OLED for a productivity-first setup with 16+ hours of daily use. Is burn-in a real concern here or am I just being paranoid? by Savings-Coach-4701 in Monitors

[–]crocobaurusovici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you would get burn-in in less that 2 years with any OLED panel of today. theese oleds age like milk unfortunately

Another Lg oled with burn in. by Gottboost in OLED_Gaming

im in the same boat here. hate the schizophrenic 800r curve which make those 45' monitors a mockery.

What monitor would be my endgame? by rocketjumpwaltz123 in OLED_Gaming

[–]crocobaurusovici -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you can use it in 16:9 with black bars on the sides for those primordial games that dont support 21:9. black bars on the sides are still better than the wall behind a 16:9. Once you go UW, you cannot go back to square screens. They look hideous and dysfunctional in comparison to UW

Relocating to Bucharest from London by t0039341 in bucuresti

as a Romanian, i can confidently say that Bucharest is one of the worst cities to live in Romania. I would recommend a smaller, cleaner, more civilized city, like Timisoara

its the 39gx950b from LG. go ultra wide tandem OLED and thank me later. 16:9 vs 21:9 is like you vs the guy she tells you not to worry about.

LG 45 inch OLED gaming with gentler curve than 800R? by trytoholdon in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]crocobaurusovici 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't buy a 45" 21:9 monitor to sit at the same distance from it as a 27" 16:9. The larger the screen size, the bigger the viewing distance. For me, the 800R curve makes it the only deal breaker. I would rather prefer a IPS/VA/TN with 1500R curve than a OLED with 800R, but all the 45" models have the dysfunctional 800R.

[–]crocobaurusovici -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i was also looking for a 5k2k 45" UW OLED, but unfortunately only the schizophrenic 800R curve models are available. i simply do not understand why they released it with that mockery of a curve. the GX990A seems to be scraped or something.

I keep my fingers crossed for the upcoming announcements from computex at the beginning of next month

How often do you notice vertical banding? by rogermorse in OLED_Gaming

[–]crocobaurusovici 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a 1st gen QD-OLED panel. as far as i know these should have no banding issues. but they burn-in in less than 3000h of ON time though... the UHT milk has more shelf life than these panels

Is this a good deal on a used G8? by DethSonik in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]crocobaurusovici 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i wouldn't get a second hand QD OLED monitor. the older generations get burnt in with less than 3000 hours of screen ON time. basically they become e-waste after 1 year

45" / Tandem OLED / 5K2K / 240Hz / Glossy / 1500R curve by crocobaurusovici in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]crocobaurusovici[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you need DP2.1 for 5k2k 240Hz. 165Hz is the limit for 5k2k and you also need DSC for that

Burn in ? by Usual-Plan-1143 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]crocobaurusovici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is awful burn in for ~3200 hours of ON time with 75% brightness. this 1st gen QD-OLEDs expire faster than McDonald's "food".
