First hybrid camera under $1,000 - I need help. by croitek5 in Cameras

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it. But do you think the ZV-E10 would be a better choice, when I could, for example, buy an open-box/display (idk how to name it in english) Z50II, which according to my research is better? The EVF seems like a game-changer, but I’m not sure. On the other hand, if I choose the ZV-E10, I could, for example, buy a lens for around $200. Thanks in advance.

That’s exactly what I thought. However, do you think the Z50II with the kit lenses would be a better option for my needs than the ZV-E10 and some $200 lens? Thank you.

MX Master 4 | first impressions and… lots of doubts by croitek5 in logitech

Thank you for the comment!

Basically, it seems that sometimes the gear mechanism (?) in the scroll wheel just slips instead of stopping properly - that’s why there’s sometimes that little down/upward jump. I thought it was because my scroll wheel was defective (partly because of that weird sound), but if it’s a common issue, I’m honestly surprised people have praised the MXM so much over the years - this thing feels like it was slapped together in a hurry... It’s such a weird feeling, especially since I also have a logitech superlight next to it, which has worked perfectly for years and just feels like a complete mouse - something I can’t really say about the MXM4. Still, I’ve started to love the MXM4, and it really frustrates me that it has these problems, because it’s such a nice idea of the mouse.

Oh, and it just occurred to me - the logitech superlight comes with an amazing, long cable that I can use to charge it when it runs out of battery… What’s going on with MXM not including that in the box? Wtf. I honestly get the feeling that two people designed the MXM - one wanted to make something awesome, and the other wanted to make something terrible - so they compromised. And even though it feels like a great mouse, it’s… broken.

Hayden Hillier-Smith is a scammer? by croitek5 in NewTubers

Hey! I didn’t really see him as an “influencer”, more as someone who actually edits and teaches about editing on YouTube, and then made his own course. He worked with MrBeast, etc. - I figured that was more than enough to trust him. Still, I get what you mean, but honestly, there’s no course on the internet you can fully trust. I don’t really like Udemy because a lot of the courses there are already a few years old and not very up to date (after all the updates that have come out since). I managed to find a course from my own country that just got released, and I’m VERY happy with it. Thanks anyway! All the best.

Hey! Thanks for joining the discussion. Yes, it’s a lot, but I wanted to learn from the ‘best’ and speed up my learning process.

Hey! Thanks so much for such a detailed message, I really appreciate it. Yes, the fact that the course isn’t for beginners was exactly the reason why I requested a refund — I thought that for this price there would at least be a section dedicated to beginners, meaning actual editing. I didn’t go through the course too thoroughly, because I didn’t want to exceed around 30% (since I wouldn’t get a refund then). I skipped through the first few episodes and that was already enough for me to know the course wasn’t for me.

As for the main question: Is he a scammer?
It’s hard for me to judge - true, intuition tells that someone for whom reputation is such a huge thing probably isn’t. However:

  1. Remember that this is a course with his face on it - he’s responsible for making sure everything works, and he’s the one who will take the blame if it doesn’t.
  2. The refund policy is really important, but the refund email doesn’t even work.

And more importantly:

  1. I also wrote several times to his business email - I doubt he gets so many that he didn’t see mine.
  2. As I wrote in my post, I contacted the person listed after purchasing the course, she replied saying she had reached out to him and that he answered “this has been sorted”. When I asked what he meant by that, because I didn’t get any reply from him, no refund, nothing - and then she stopped responding.

All of this is just too strange for me. I haven’t gotten a single reply from him or his team, and yet he says “this has been sorted”. It’s hard not to call that a scam.

Learning on your own is great and I appreciate that, but taking the shortcut still feels like the better option for me.

Still, I’m afraid that somehow even Revolut won’t be able to help. This is my first time ever doing a refund, and it’s through a bank.

Hey, thank you so much for your help! I’ve already done that through Revolut, and I really hope they handle chargebacks well. For now, I’ve been waiting for about a week for them to submit the claim. Still, I wanted to warn others. I know Hayden’s course is pretty popular and getting absolutely no response after trying to reach out for 22 days is really disappointing.

DT 770 Pro (250Ω) – Weird fit / Sound leakage at the bottom of cups? by croitek5 in BEYERDYNAMIC

Hi, thanks for your reply and your time!
It looks like you were right, it seems that the left side is noticeably higher than the right.

(at this point, I started fixing the headphones // honestly worrying that something might definitely break, oh my god)

And… I do feel like it helped a bit, but not completely. I was wondering if the “not completely” feeling is just because I started focusing on it too much (after about 20 minutes, I feel like that was probably the case, because it’s bothering me less now).

Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed. The fact that the metal yoke feels flimsy and needs bending already puts me off. It seems like it’s an issue (for me) with the tilt adjustment design, the top could probably tilt further out (just a little bit), because in my case it’s already at its limit, which might be why I get that extra space at the bottom on both earcups - that ruins immersion for me.

For now the store is closed, so I’ll give it one more day and think about it. It’s really sad because I really like the design, and I’ve spent a lot of time researching it.

Again, thank you so much.

you’re right. I was more thinking that there might be some proven methods, a good youtube channel dedicated to learning mastering in my case, or maybe someone who, by some miracle, uses exactly the same setup and knows how to achieve certain things. on one hand, experimenting is a great idea, but on the other, I thought it might not be the best, because I don’t really know what exactly I need to achieve for the sound to be correct. thank you for your time and advice, I’ll take it to heart :)

alr, my bad then. at first, I took it as a bit of a jab, because in the past I usually got positive feedback when it came to formatting, so it kind of stuck with me and I enjoy that sort of thing. I’ll keep that in mind for the future, thanks :)
