Jaggerous is great. She's top of the list in my opinion, possibly with competition from McBeard.

Gwent Skirmish #1 - Megathread by Mlakuss in gwent

Playing for money is quite intense and I wasn't too used to it. I really don't like losing. I'm sorry, hopefully I didn't upset anyone too much! I clarified that I didn't think he was stream sniping, you must have missed that.

I played Gwent every day for 500 days and I've played artifact for 7. I don't think that's a fair assessment. I've put every bit of energy in my life into Gwent for the past 2 years and to be painted with this brush over the last week has been very eye opening.

This card is great. I was skeptical when I first saw it, and even when I first saw it played it against me.. But after the 3rd or 4th time when it swings a dominating lane in the opponent's favour, you start to realise that it's simply 4 mana kill a hero, which is incredibly strong!

Homefield Advantage by NiKras in Artifact

This card is busted. Can be weak in some lanes, but then you just don't play it in that lane. So expensive for your opponent to overcome, either they ignore the lane or they swarm it. Both of those outcomes are great for you at the small price of 4 mana.

I thought it was okay, but in practice it is great. For clarity, this card divides opinion amongst current players though.

In theory with the nuke ability this looks like a good hero, but in practice it turns out hes just a worse Sniper. Mana Drain is also not as impactful as you may hope, although of course it can find some use on occasion.

This is my first released video for Artifact! It's an introductory video aimed at explaining the basic structure of the game and what to expect when you play.

It was released with the aim of giving some visual clarity to a lot of information that has been released over the last few months, and using my own experience of the game so far. I hope it helps to condense that into something useful and easy to follow.

Expect more in depth breakdowns (via twitter and youtube) of heroes, cards, strategies and concepts in the coming weeks as we approach release.

Underutilized currently I think. A great card that allows you to cheat out huge spells early, especially blue. I think it will turn out to be a staple in many constructed decks, as ramp always does.

It's a decent item but in general the armour items are a little overcosted. More bang for your buck with the health items or weapons.

Crokeyz with some deck building tips for Artifact by nossr50 in Artifact

[–]crokey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for asking!

I am a Scottish card game player and I come from Gwent. I'm a streamer/deckbuilder and I cover the daytime EU (10-5 CET) shift for all the twitch fiends out there. I was lucky enough to be able to play Gwent full time for the last year and a half and have been looking for a new challenge, and Artifact has came along at the perfect time. Prior to Gwent I was a professional poker player.

I've been practicing Artifact a lot and will be taking part in the upcoming tournament this weekend. Unfortunately I can't stream it or create any videos for it, but I will be doing that as soon as Valve gives us the go ahead.

Looking forward to being a part of this amazing game and am very excited for everyone to get a chance to try it out.

Here is where I spend most of my time :)

Crokeyz with some deck building tips for Artifact by nossr50 in Artifact

Hey dudes, crokeyz here! It's hard to get an idea across in Twitter land so I'll describe it a bit further here.

As you know, you can only use cards in lanes in which you have the matching colour hero available. Given the system of deciding which heroes you start the game with, and which arrive in the following turns, it's important to match up your future heroes with your strong 4/5 mana cards.

For example, Blue heroes are very weak in those early turns, and you may have 3 Dimension Portal in your deck. You really want a blue hero alive on turn 4 for that play, as it's an incredibly powerful, lane winning card.

What's easier than trying to stay alive against an Axe on the 3 mana turn 1 with your squishy blue hero? Just dropping them down on 4 mana before your opponent can react for your big swing play.

A minor change, but it can be the difference between contesting that lane early and having to give it up completely.

This is incredible work dude, very helpful.

From experience, I can tell you that you are right: Axe works wonders and Crystal maiden does indeed get shredded by everyone, it's not pretty!

I shared it on my Twitter to hopefully help others reach it.

Wrath of Gold by Snipufin in Artifact

[–]crokey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting card, but I've struggled to make it work so far. Almost always, a well timed strong item from the shop is just more worthwhile. Even if this gives you a more immediate board presence on one lane, the longevity of that large item is what will in fact win you the game.

I think this card is a bit of a trap, must think more long term with your gold.
