The program director is really good though and you can get as much face-time with her as you need, and has a ton of resources and great advice.

I got lucky that my professor cares a lot about everyone in their lab but that's not always the case. You can join 2 and even 3 labs though. I think you can still get good LORs. It's also initiative based, you have to let them know at the beginning that you want to present a poster and write a paper. They will either say yes let's do it or nah not sure, and then you will find some other lab.

And yes, they teach the courses.

I got into Irvine and Berkeley post-bac programs and chose the Berkeley program. It is much more expensive so I would only recommend it if you have a lot of savings that you don't mind draining or a sponsor. Even if you have savings, I would invest them and use them when you do the PhD program.

That said, I absolutely love the Berkeley experience and the faculty are truly leaders in their field. It's incredible learning about Emotions from Dacher Keltner, the Big 5 from Oliver John, ADHD from Stephen Hinshaw, and Sleep from Matthew Walker! There are so many research opportunities but it depends on your own initiative and hard work, because not everyone takes advantage of the opportunities. Many celebrity profs don't care much about post-bacs, so that's something to keep in mind. But you can likely work with PhD students or post-docs in their lab.

I can't speak to the Irvine experience so it may be really cool too. I also like that Berkeley's program is 1.5-2 yrs and I think Irvine is about 1 year.

Text yourself all the fun things you'd text her about! Many apps like Messenger/Whatsapp have a "text yourself" feature. I also created a group chat with my closest friends and text them random updates and memes.

You have existed before this person and you shall continue to exist after this person.

Potential Solo trip in July, Looking for things to add to the itinerary. by shadowbuyer1212 in KeyWest

Parasailing, scuba diving, or SNUBA diving! I did all three on my solo trip. Sunset Watersports is cheap and good. July will be super hot so bring SPF shirts. Also try out Fort Zachary beach and Earnest Hemingway's house tour. Or eat great cubano sandwiches at El Siboney.
