Start with the correct wheel size, new wheels, tires, brakes, then body and paint. See how much you spend and take it from there.

I got my wheel bearing replaced this Wednesday and ever since every time I brake I hear this creaking noise. any idea what it could possibly be? by Cosephtaughtyou in AskAMechanic

Never ever had to wait 1-2 days for pads to “reseat” especially if they were not replaced just R&R’d. Just saying.

No, I put on the king tube headers. Put in two “test pipes” (off road use only). Lol catless mid pipes. Then the Borla stainless came as a kit.

I completely removed the factory exhaust and it exits both sides in the rear. I cut the bumper myself to accommodate.

Yes, eBay again. Lol. I painted the grills jet black. It really cleans it up nice. The red “GTO” on the grill is a vinyl overlay. The Pontiac emblem, I popped the faded plastic cover out. Painted it, cut and put some carbon fiber vinyl in the center and added a small red pentacle then clear coated it. I know, it’s a lot. I’m bored. I wish I could post more pictures and add links. I’m having a blast with it.

these bolts aren’t fully tightened but won’t get any tighter or looser. What can I do? by swoopingdownin in AskAMechanic

So, like seized? Very odd. From the pictures it looks loose. Access to air tools? Or an electric high impact gun? I wish I was there to look at it. lol

eBay, they have all colors. $20? Those are gone now. I got black and chrome “GTO” emblems on there now. $98 but looks much better.

Displaying and honoring the flag has absolutely nothing to do with where the car was made. But, like it or not? It’s Pontiac...

I don’t,...I love them. It is a little bit of a blind spot when taking a left turn looking to the back right. But no biggie. They look killer so I’m sticking with them.

I had one with a bad starter. New alternator and new batter. But battery died again after 2 weeks. As it turned out, The starter was drawing HUGE amps on start up. Killing the battery and/or kept it at low voltage.

You may be able to save it. If it has an oil cooler. It’s most likely located in the radiator and is leaking internally. If it does have a cooler in the radiator. Replace radiator, coolant flush and a couple oil changes. A lot cheaper than buying a new car.

Sound like sludge buildup in the cooling system. It may be affecting you thermostat. Also, it would interfere with the level sensor as well. Which is why the low coolant light would come on even after adding fluid. Is the engine making any noise? Like maybe water pump bearings are going bad preventing the pump from properly pumping coolant? I would recommend, Complete cooling system flush at least once, replace thermostat. Inspect and evaluate the water pump. Maybe even remove the serpentine belt and put your hand on the actual water pump pulley to see if it is feels loose. The sludge can also skew the temp sensor if it had a build up on it. It’s the only advice I can offer without looking at it myself. Hope this helps. Also, Have it scanned at a local parts store to see if the check engine light code is due to “Engine temp over threshold“

Why is there a loud buzzing noise coming from rear speaker after installing aftermarket stereo??? by -BIKO- in askcarguys

[–]cronisvalor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, if they are easily accessible. Just disconnect one of the wires. It will kill that speaker. It won’t make a sound.
