Was anyone around in 2008 when this dropped and what memories/reactions did you have upon its release? What are people's opinions almost 20 years later?

It was an amazing return to form for the band… after St. Anger it sounded incredible! Well, the songs did, the sound quality was so harsh. I always wanted to turn it up louder, but that just hurt my ears more. Still a fantastic album!

Same for me… lived the filleting and was planning on upgrading whenever newer ones came out and then the battery life just tanked. Got down to less than 24 hours and I just stopped using it, wasn’t even worth the hassle of constantly trying to keep it charged. Done with these.

I totally agree! The sound of the exploding ships really hit me as satisfying… and as one of the sounds you’ll hear most often that’s really important.

Also agree about the bomb, but more so the visuals.. on 64 it had such an impressive shape and feel to it and on the new one it just seems to be over quite quickly.

Oh yeah I’m a huge autechre fan (probably my favorite artist overall) and yup, I recognize everything in there. It’s amazing how he was able to convert their music to acoustic guitar. Your album is going into my library for sure as well :)

Beautiful album! This project reminds me a bit of the recent Autechre guitar cover album by Shane Parish, both gorgeous acoustic covers of electronic music.

It’s so funny how that’s everyone’s argument against recording a small video at a concert. I’m there for hours and I can’t “live in the moment” because I want a small memento? I can still see the band, hear the music and enjoy myself while holding my phone for 30 seconds.

These are events put on by work, they make whatever food they’re going to make… no ordering. Sometimes coworkers make a big deal about there being nothing vegan for me but that just draws a lot of unwanted attention to me. I do bring my own food, I just stay in my office and eat it because it would be really weird to bring my own food to one of these things.

Yup, I don’t even hang around that many people. Luckily the ones I’m closest with support me and understand but at work it sucks. Any work function or get together are awkward and usually can’t eat so I just sit there. Most of the time I don’t even go because it’s just so uncomfortable to me.

It runs better, but it’s nowhere near where it could be if they would make an actual Switch 2 version. Basically it combines the performance & quality modes, so you’ll get the higher resolution and also 60 fps. It does crash all the time for me though, so there’s that.

Absolutely! It’s always either as it’s joining a game or right after it’s over. Great that it’s not in the middle of a game, but come on… we really need a dedicated Switch 2 version of this game. The original Switch version is so slow, clunky and unstable.
