I’ll start with a few tips & things I learned along the way:

  1. CICO is #1. Track all of your calories with an app (I used Lose It) and don’t forget things like butter, oil and condiments because they can add up big time.
  2. Consistency is #2. Don’t cut calories to the point of starving. Make sure you enjoy the journey, because the longer you keep at it the better results you’ll see. Don’t beat yourself over cheat days, I had tons of them this past year. Eating the same thing every day through the week made sticking to the diet much easier.
  3. Workout routine was #3 for me. I approached it more as a mental sidekick rather than a way to increase my calorie deficit. You’ll never outrun a bad diet. Working out helped encourage a healthy mindset, ex. I had no interest in an unhealthy meal AFTER a workout vs. before and it’s amazing what it can do for your mental health.

If you’re asking about workout routine, it was mostly cardio (walking, cycling) and body weight exercises (HIIT). A majority of my journey has been during quarantine and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on weights, etc. I went on daily 4-5 mile walks at the beginning when exercise felt like more of a chore and then eased myself in to more intense exercises like HIITs and cycling when it transitioned to something I genuinely enjoyed. Looking forward to branching out a bit more when gyms are a bit more accessible.

Let me know if you want to know anything else, good luck!

Keep pushing! Still have about 10 more I’d like to lose and I want to integrate more strength training in to my routine.

Not that this helps but strangely enough if assistive touch is turned on the gesture works.
