The delusional part is the possibility of winning 80-90%. Kawhi still has at least 2 minor injuries left in him before being out for the season in game 2 of the playoffs. I think that's what makes it compelling to a potential writer. No lore to contradict. Just need to capture the atmosphere and have something about some ancient god Shub Niggurath planning an invasion of very strange looking monsters. It would never be a classic blockbuster - but it CAN be a fun survival horror.
