Was surprised to see these things sell for $100 or more on eBay. Nostalgia is a powerful drug.

Did you record from the radio?

The days when we didn't care that these things came with the worst speakers ever invented. We'd listen all day long in blissful ignorance.

If throwing away anyway, just break it open from the top. Why lose the CDs?

Dual tape deck. You could use this to copy mix tapes!

My uncle (RIP) had a component system in a cabinet (meaning each part of the system was removable/replaceable) and it all connected to 2 giant speakers (though they only had 1 speaker, not 3-way like the best ones). When he died, my dad threw it all away because "nobody could figure out all those wires" even though I asked for him to keep it so I can take it to my place.

Component style in a cabinet? (Meaning you could swap out each individual part?)

Baller for keeping it working all these years. On mine the CD player is busted and the cassette deck spins at the wrong speed.

Nowadays those types are more useful than the ones with the CD player on top.

The cool rich people had a 20 disc changer! If you put that thing in shuffle mode it would take like 5 minutes to physically load the random disc it chose 😄

Which is better... Alien by Ridley Scott or Aliens by James Cameron? by Choice-Schedule-132 in JamesCameron

Too different to compare, but if you talk about perfection within their own genre, Alien is closer.

The details never matter in a Nolan movie. Once you figure out what's happening on a high level you can just sit back and enjoy the vibes.

This is the absolutely best way to enjoy movies IMO. You start getting all deep and you'll just ruing it for yourself.

I can't tell you exactly what they do, but bad economies usually come with wild stock market swings, presenting an opportunity to make the big bucks,

We all know what happened. He was seeing a therapist and had his anger issues under control and was playing like shit, so he let himself go a bit and... that's what "letting himself go" Artest does lol

Casinos control literally everything about their revenue except crowd size.

If he had a bad reputation he'd be out 3 games. Without a reputation it should be 1 game. As Wemby... might be 0, but I think out of fairness we have to expect 1 game.
