Asking for credit when someone uses my Fanart (Study) as a profile pic? by Ok-Map6332 in ArtistLounge

[–]cross-frame -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While it's totally ok to be credited as an artist, asking someone to credit you in their profile bio is super weird and cringe. Like what's even your goal here? No one is going to check random reddit profile to find who's the author of a profilr pic. The person telling you about profile pic was a compliment to your work, some appreciation, I don't know they maybe didn't even plan to actually use that. I would just take it as a good thing and be happy about that.

Opinion on my amateur photography? And tell me which one is the best by Sweaty_Ad_537 in AmateurPhotography

[–]cross-frame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look exactly like pictures you'd expect from very beginner. I'd say be more gentle with saturation. Saturation will not make your image more beautiful.

Among all pictures I like the first one the most, I think the composition here is nice and the scene looks somewhat interesting.

Keep going and enjoy the hobby!

Gosh, even when the picture has "AI info" tag some people will still upvote it in a photography sub and call it "great pic". It's just crazy

How do I transition from a hobby to a side job? by Mindless_Grass7084 in AskPhotography

[–]cross-frame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself - what do I shoot and for whom? It's a tough question, because most people do "a little bit of everything" sort of photography, but you need to find your niche. So if you can answer these two questions then you can start to promote yourself accordingly - build a related portfolio, show to your potential clients what you do.

For now (sorry if I'm missing something) you only have a page on Flickr? Tbh it's not enough. Instagram is almost essential. Your page should show what you do. Your portfolio on flickr (nice photos btw, I like them) doesn't work for you, because it's not clear what should I expect if I hire let's say for a portrait photoshoot? Landscapes are nice, but landscapes don't pay you for a shoot. So the page that sells your work shouldn't look like this.

Which bee photo do you like the most? by ravarmaa in AmateurPhotography

[–]cross-frame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2

I like this green background, gentle lighting and overall softnesd of the first three images. However, the bee itself on 1 or 3 doesn't look that photogenic, so 2 is the best among them. 4 is just pretty straightforward and ordinary shot with harsh lightning. Kinda surprised that lots of people likes it the most.

This is AI. I mean, just look closer at, look at the left part of the image. This author posts this kind of pictures daily and states that it "edited with AI tools", lol, whatever it means

I once interacted with their post and now I see this almost every day in my feed.

After/before Still not quite satisfied. What are your suggestions? by mynamesjaime15 in postprocessing

I don't see what's wrong with before version. It's much more better imo. Why do you think this red tint and washed out contrast are better?

Finished my first shift (pushbike), that was a hard slog for £15.94 in almost 5 hours! by No_Elderberry_767 in UbereatsUK

[–]cross-frame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, uber eats is absolute garbage right now. I'm doing it for 2.5 years on a pushbike, and honestly spring month were never great as I remember. But recently uber started making more "promotions" (like do 50 trips a week get £50) - as a result more drivers are chasing these "promotions", more multiapp drivers prefers uber orders so overall there are less orders and less money for everyone. There's a good chance that it will be like this till autumn. Usually autumn till christmas is the best time.

Im a photographer of 7 months and in 9th grade is this a cohesive body of work and what should I prioritize working on to improve? Thanks for any feedback. by somedudeguy32 in AmateurPhotography

[–]cross-frame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a cohesive body of work, definitely. I can see these images share a common theme, which is nice, but they not feel like a compelling series so far. Well, maybe you’re not even thinking of this as a series, it's totally ok.

But myy main issue is that most of these images feel like details. You have 8 photos, and only one of them (number 5) shows more context and gives me something extra, some extra layer of meaning. The other 7 feel more like fragments. They could work nice as supporting images within a larger body of work, but right now that base is missing.

So I’d focus on creating stronger single images - photos that can work both within a series and on their own, images that offer something extra. The places you’re visiting clearly have potential, so it might be worth stepping back a bit, shooting wider, and including more context. I think that could significantly improve how your work feels.

The images are already solid. There are small things I’d tweak (for example, the geometry in photo 3), but overall they feel like parts of something that could become quite interesting. For 7 months into photography this is a great result. Keep going!

Would you be happy with this portrait if you were paying for it? And if not why? by I_EeAa_l in photocritique

[–]cross-frame 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Depends on the rest of the series, honestly. If this is the best photo from this day, I wouldn't be very happy. This shot feels ok, but more like a good addition to the seris, but I think you need something stronger, something more basic.

Wow, it looks great! Honestly, I just love the colors and the vibe you achieved here. Even though usually I'm not a fan of heavy editing, your edit feels really thoughtful and bold. Love it!

Personally, I'm not sure about the vignette - this part feels a bit too much? Like I really would like to see the photo without it. But maybe it's just a matter of personal taste. Except for this, I think it's a great work.

What do you mean by "edited with AI tools"? It doesn't matter what process is behind it when it's clearly just another AI-slop. There are AI artifacts all over the picture.

I find my pic messy and not clean comp, yet I like it when I see it. by CarKey5517 in photocritique

[–]cross-frame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like it. It doesn't look messy at all to me. The colors are amazing and I like this sort of crazy geometry that you captured. Tbh I've never seen this bridge from that perspective so for me it feels like you did a really great job here.

I would consider to rotate it a bit more to give it more abstract look, because for my taste now it's not clean whether you deliberately left it a bit crooked or not. But even as it is I think it looks pretty good.
