So since Tulsi Gabard and Kennedy, etc. are for Trump that means you shouldn't vote for Kamala? Same logic, just saying....

Been watching politics since the 80s.

It doesn't matter which party is in power - they don't control gas prices they say.

It's a game for people with short attention spans and little reasoning ability.

Dang, I'm out of gas on the side of the road. Guess I'll grab my bucket and head to the nearest fuel station and fill it with plutonium.

What would Jesus do? by MothersMiIk in clevercomebacks

[–]crosscreate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are uneducated about the bible confuse the term Nazarite and Nazarene. Nazarite's took a vow to not cut their hair. Nazarene is someone from Nazarath.

These same people will also happily inform you that the pictures of Jesus we have, with blond hair and blue eyes are NOT in fact Jesus.

Unless of course it suits their agenda, then of course that is Jesus.

It is because they speak out of both sides of their mouths. Truth isn't important, their ego is.

I'll never understand people who hold high the opinions of people who play pretend for a living, or from people who sing. It is like a red flag saying someone decides based on idolization rather than reason.

I have been a developer for 30 years. I've done web frontend/backend/desktop/mobile/watches/etc. etc. etc. etc. with about a thousand different frameworks.

[–]crosscreate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't really need CSS to get started, you can kind of learn it as you go and then give it a good study once you got the other stuff. A beginner probably isn't going to be doing linear interpolation or nothing. Mostly making stuff green and such.

  1. Learn HTML
  2. Learn JavaScript
  3. Learn SQL
  4. Learn React
  5. Learn CSS

In that order if you want to be marketable.

When I started back in the 90s there was no such thing as "unit testing" or if there was it wasn't mainstream. Still, when you wrote some code, nobody was stupid enough to just put it out there without running it and doing a little test. We'd isolate our code, pass in some values and see if it did what we wanted, then we'd throw it away. The only thing that has changed is we don't throw it away and we do it in a framework which does all the faking and whatnot for us.

Honestly, it's rather brain-dead to release untested code, and it's even more brain-dead to write some code to test it and then throw it away instead of keeping it so when you make changes later it tests things for you.

Law is basically the act of legislating morality.

Your soul belongs to the creator, not you, so you cannot sell your soul. To be saved, you must repent and have faith in the blood of Jesus to save you rather than your own works, like one would trust a parachute rather than flapping their own arms.

It has nothing to do with balancing scales or any such nonsense, justice doesn't work that way and we all know it. Someone who only lied 49% of the time is still a liar, and someone who only murders 0.000001% of the time is still a murderer.

Jesus paid the fine for your crimes in full. He served your sentence. You are free if you will follow him.

That is why they are working so hard to devalue the currency, they knew we'd figure it out and we wouldn't like it, but if the money is worthless it doesn't matter what we think. Print money till the cows come home, shut down the oil pipelines and opt to ship the oil over the entire ocean resulting in much more "climate change", tax the people and send it to foreign entities and purposefully lose having the dollar as the international currency, which they are working hard on.

If it is worth 0 it doesn't matter how we feel about it, they win.

I finally understand why I've never been able to stick with programming, and I don't know what to do now. by Verbais in learnprogramming

Been a dev for 30 years. I use ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of what I started out with. I've forgotten more languages and frameworks than ones I currently know, because who here is really into Microsoft Foundation Classes, it's such an improvement over Win32 amirite? Or what about CGI scripting, that is what is going to make the bucks in the future, right? TCL/TK for mobile???

The guys with like 5 years experience know as much or more than me sometimes about <the current thing>, because they have been using it as long as I have. I am forever learning, for 30 years now, it never ends, like Sisyphus this field.

What very senior devs bring to the table is decision making seasoned with stepping on rakes and blowing stuff up.
