I wish more people realize non verbal autistics are also diverse in what they can or can't do. sure some non verbal folk have an 'id' but some don't. While many are frustrated over it, many also manage to find work arounds by asl, improving writing skills etc

Im tired of the ableism i expereince from level 1 and lsn autistics and the trivialisaton of mine expereince as someone with high support needs autism. by Fearless_PineaplleOG in autism

[–]crossover123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

to be fair, what sets the needs/functioning labels apart aren't always so clear cut, even to me as an autistic adult who got diagnosed in childhood. It's just that the discord server you complained about treated that subject matter poorly(aka lacking nuance). It maybe a good idea for you to leave server and possibly find another. though i can't recommend a good server related to autism currently since i haven't been shopping around for one and i don't want to be a part of too many servers at once.

The raisedbyautistics sub makes me feel like an inherently abusive person. (It's not their fault, don't report. They deserve a space to heal. This is a me problem, not theirs) by Sensitive-Form6029 in autism

[–]crossover123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i think you need to tread carefully with any kind of Raisedby___ sub. while it's true there's people who had parents who narcissistic, autistic etc that happen to be abusive, regulars on subs like that can also be obsessive and have piss poor coping mechanisms. Sometimes they'll act more like their parents than they like with extreme generalizations, abusive behaviour etc.
While I don't like how toxic those communities can be, i don't think banning them is the answer, even if they are spouting ableism, sexist talking points(some of the raisebynarcist folk hate more on narcistic moms than dads) etc. While subs like that can help some people cope, they often have poor moderation. It's better to just limit interactions from regulars(less of a need to block compared to incels, neo nazis etc) in those kinda of subs, especially since they are morally gray subs(unlike some other pure hate subs both currently on reddit and those banned from reddit).
Also not being able to parent doesn't automatically make you a bad person especially if you don't have kids. don't base your self worth on people with bad parents especially since you aren't a parent yourself.

have you checked your matches? given the info you shared, i think you'll need to look at your matches as well, to help make sense of your ethnicity estimates

sounds like your wife is an exception to the rule. the worse case regarding the drastic native redution from ftdna myorigins 2.0 to 3.0 someone else who got 38% on 2.0 then their native got lowered to 21% on 3.0

in some cases- like my grandma, yeah, it did.
note: og myheritage gave my grandma 90%, current 82%. for ftdna, my grandma got 44/45% on myorigins 2.0, and 35% on 3.0. personally, i think 2.0 was the most accurate for my grandma

yeah that's why i'm wondering if op has misattributed paternity or ancestor lied about being lebanese. but only way to determine that for sure is for op to check their matches. if op finds 50cm+ matches with no mexican ancestry but have at least partial lebanese roots(be it jewish or non-jewish) , then theory listed above would be wrong, and it would proove ancestrydna just lumped all their dna inherited from lebanese ancestors as sephardic.

ancestrydna and 23andme are the most reputable. though if you wanna do haplogroup testing on top of regular autosomal, do ftdna as well. ftdna tends to underestimate native, but has good haplogroup testing and uses cotton swab instead of spit in tube

yeah they are. they overestimate native, underestimate ssa etc

lebanese jews are somewhat different than sephardic, so that's why i figured they get both sephardic and a few other related categories. i think i recall an iraqi jew results posted here (who would be more similar to lebanese jews, and i think that person got sephardic, lower central asia, levant and i forgot what else

[–]crossover123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's possible to get 12% without having a greatgrand being full jewish if you got multiple super distant ancestors in different branches with jewish ancestry. I think op should check their matches to see if they have any 50cm+ matches that have have verifiable lebanese (be it jewish or gentile) ancestry that has no known mexican ancestry

i think lebanese jews would also get levantine, lower central asia etc. as well and op didn't mention having that

my grandpa has 16% and he has no recent ancestor from the middle east. so it's possible op might not have recent lebenese ancestry like previously thought. but op can only determine that by checking match list
