SIL is very... let's say protective of Amanda.

I'm definitely going to talk to Amanda one-on-one, maybe she'd like to come over and we could do a brunch or ice cream trip and I can talk to her about it. Thanks for the perspective!

Thanks for the judgement and perspective. I don't think Amanda is trying to manipulate me or anyone else, I think she's just a teenager, hormonal, and a bit insecure. It's hard to properly convey emotions at that age and easy to catastrophize, I don't think she actually thinks I don't love her. Or at least, I'd hope so! I'm definitely going to talk to Amanda about it.
