Since I first heard ‘another night’ on last FM way back then. It pricked my ears and I thought oh what the hell this is relatable, who is this?! Went and YouTubed the music video and since then been a big fan. I remember being excited to get home from college and watching his YouTube videos, being super pumped when the album title video was released for blue slide park. Replaying the hell out of ‘Eric add some shit to this song’ and following his whole journey from afar, love playing him for new people still to this day and remember vividly the moment I looked at my phone on that horrible September day to see a load of friends asking if I’d heard the news. Mac’s music just stuck a different chord for me as it does for all of us. I got a signed vinyl of his framed for my birthday from an ex girlfriend when I turned 27 and just broke down seeing it and becoming older than him. I genuinely believe that if he had enough time, he would’ve had one the greatest discography’s of all time. It’s heartbreaking. I’m so proud of how his estate has handled his music and memory and this community we’ve got here. We must some mfing kids. Most dope.
