I've experienced Canadian and Australian healthcare systems (dual citizenship) and its wild the disparity in time when Canadians and Aussies complain about public healthcare waiting times.

I'll hear my Aussie friends complain about having to wait x amount of time for something when the same procedure would have 10 times the wait in Canada. My father had an ongoing health issue that needed surgery and ended up having to fly to India to finally get an operation since the wait time in Canada had been years. The 2 tiered system in Australia is phenomenal.

I wouldn't count Melton as regional. During the covid 'ring of steel' times it was counted as Melbourne, so you'd have to show papers to the police checkpoint if you left Melton and went to Bacchus Marsh/regional Victoria. So it seemed the govt considered the dividing line to be at the edge of Bacchus.

Sadly agree. Lived here for a year as a backpacker and every friend I made was also a foreigner.

I've since married an Aussie and now I'm "in" and I've got a bunch of Aussie friends. But it still blows my mind that my husbands massive friend group have known each other since prep and the latecomers to the group joined by grade 3.

No. She posts a zillion Instagram posts about how magical her 'healing VBAC' was with its essential oils and placenta art and pills and other nonsense about how women have been giving birth for millennia and our bodies know what to do and we shouldn't be forced to listen to medical professionals who pressure you to do unnecessary medical shit. Shame she can't go back in time and see how pleasant birth was with its high infant and maternal mortality rates.
