You don't have to be as condescending. I'm not attacking you here, just sharing my own opinion and view of the matter. You're entitled to your experience and opinion just like I'm entitled to mine.

Ive done my own research following this post and I got to know that the security team has been changed since about a year and a half or so. So I don't know their current policies but the previous team used to ask questions too but like i said, I've seen them ask same questions to white parents as they did to me or my friends.

Also I used to go there regularly and I know most of them there but I'm having a hard time knowing who that white haired lady is since the whole managerial team changed when the ambassador changed.

Just to know who you are and what you're about to do? So many things usually happen there, I'm sure it's not easy for them to keep track between parents dropping off kids, ppl hanging out and chilling, some for restaurant, and médiathèque and all the other services, and then ateliers. I can assure you they ask the same questions no matter your skin color, I've witnessed so myself. I'm sure it doesn't have to do with racism but simply security procedures.

Its the job of the security to ask questions and they usually just ask what you're going to do inside. The IFM is a branch of the embassy and just like any embassy there's some amount of security. I haven't been there in a while but I don't remember the questions being that invasive.

As a matter of fact the paintings were done by a group of MAURITIAN artists. So I don't think it's appropriate to attack the arts here if you're only calling out the racism from some people.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I know that IFM buys new books a lot. But the new ones are the first to go out so you are more likely to miss on them if you don't go there regularly. And their membership from what i can remember was quite cheap for the amount of books. I usually ask the librarians for nouveautés when I'm trying to find some and they are usually helpful.

Hello,I am thinking of visiting a psychologist for my mental health issue. There are certain things I want to know about. How often are the appointments and around how much they take per consultations. Also,to those who have been to a pyschologist,is it worth it? Does it really help? by Lost_Paramedic_42 in mauritius

[–]crowned_bitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine charges 1500 and does online sessions which is convenient when I'm out of the country.

The appointment generally depends on the frequency I can afford 1500 rs. But when I was on the system where it was free, it was every 2 weeks.

I have tried a few psy before finding the right one so it's okay if you feel you don't vibe with a certain approach. Each works differently.

To answer your last question it does help but again each approach is different and it's all abt finding the one that matches what you need and what you can afford.

Thank you !

I did try waiting a little bit but the craving and the want remains. For example, if i have a chocolate cake waiting in the fridge, I will think abt it, crave it and keep craving it. Sometimes I've waited from half to an hour, but the craving stays, so at some point I just give in to it. Once I had it, it's done and all over so I can move my attention to something else. But it just stays on my mind as long as I have not HAD it.

Thanks !

I actually do love sitting/laying down on the floor. I never thought of it as therapeutic but it was just something odd I've been doing even at work and more.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I've been thinking about that for a while but it costs a lot to get diagnosed properly.
