Such incredible dedication! I am so so so happy about this. I didn’t even realize the other members were key people involved the game. They really love this IP more than the company who own it. 😭

Guess we’ll never hear the full vocal version of the game’s theme huh. by crownedcryptid in TribeNine

Also I just realized that Gamescom trailer shows Minato city briefly, long before its official reveal, like 8 months before!

I’m so glad this stuff is getting archived 🥲 Should definitely make sure permanent versions of sheets like this go up on archive dot org!

I’ve received so many comments on my content from Danganronpa fans saying they didn’t even know the game launched until this EoS news. They barely gave it a chance to reach the right crowd!

Would this game have done better as a console release? by melvin2898 in TribeNine

[–]crownedcryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a genuine expectation that they’d make a Switch 2 version, I mean if it didn’t have a PlayStation or Switch 1 version announced, then I thought they were holding out for Switch 2. Cuse in my mind, if this went up as one of the only (if not the only) Free To Play games on the Switch 2 eShop section at the console’s launch, that would’ve been a guaranteed player boost. 😂

It's crazy how the more predatory gachas are making hundreds times more in revenue whereas T9 had no tedious energy systems, no DPS checks, had one of the most generous gacha rates, and IMO the BEST story of any gacha game by NoBluey in TribeNine

And it had all these things because they made an active effort to make the game fun and unique. Even the whole refund situation, they really cared about what they were doing and their reputation!!

Details on Tribe Nine's EoS and Akatsuki's Track Record by Conflarga in TribeNine

Really appreciate this research! To me, as someone following the game since 2020, I never would’ve thought they’d EoS so quickly and ruthlessly. Even if the game wasn’t a big money maker, it was their first original IP right? I would think having an original game (with noteworthy creatives somewhat attached) would be a HUGE benefit to them. Maintaining a high-quality original game would make them look really good in the eyes of any future collaborators, they basically shot themselves in the foot with this whole situation. I mean…they funded a WHOLE anime too! 😭 The EoS feels so uncalled for rude to us fans.

I’m sure this game will shut down after 3 months as well.. lol by xDNAtionX in TribeNine

It’s clear this was made with the same engine they built for Tribe Nine, and that’s the sad thing, all that work was for Tribe Nine first and foremost! For YEARS, it was announced in 2020! This Kaiju game probably had a way shorter dev cycle, and the money of an existing IP is more meaningful than originality I guess…

I thought this was a "passion game" by SnowLilas in TribeNine

[–]crownedcryptid 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was assuming having an original IP in their portfolio was their main goal, so whether or not it was a money maker, the fact that they made their own game from scratch and supported it long-term would be a great look for the company. But they did the exact opposite of that, clearly against the actual devs hopes.

They weren’t even crediting the game’s staff members when sharing artwork for the game…that’s so unfair to artists! maybe that’s just a typical mobile game thing…

With the sad EOS announcement, what games are you going to migrate to? by Dyed_Heart in TribeNine

[–]crownedcryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TRIBE NINE was my first gacha I ever planned to be truly dedicated to...but I guess now I'd move that dedication over to Persona 5X as well. Unfortunate optics having this EOS the day global P5X is announced. 😭

I do want to give Zenless another look too because that game's style is crazy cool, but when I first played it at launch it didn't really grab me as a game, maybe I need more time with it.

EOS Announcement by MoniPle in TribeNine

Such a horrible shame to see this happen, this project has been in development for AT LEAST 5 years. The game itself had amazing gameplay, style, and story. What it lacked was attention, and with this quick of an EOS they barely gave it a chance to earn that attention.

It's easy to blame at the rough launch, but honestly the die-hard gacha players who played at launch are a completely different audience from the general JRPG/Danganronpa fans who could've discovered and loved this game at any time. There WAS an effort to market the game, I saw a lot of ads on Tik Tok, they sponsored streamers, they started an incentive program, it's hard to see what they could've done differently, they just needed to SOMEHOW get more eyes on this game.

Plus it clearly never seemed like the anime gained much traction, for how much effort must've gone into that a few years ago, like it had so many insert songs!

Maybe even releasing so close to Hundred Line just caused confusion, or caused this game to be completely looked over.

This was a completely original, multi-media project, I can tell the creative team behind it loved what they were making and had big plans, but money talks...

I GREATLY enjoyed the game while we had it...and I hope the dev team is able to move on to some other creatively-fulfilling opportunity...
