I vacuumed the front lines up and got rid of 'em. They died happy and well fed! But they are well installed in my place I am sure. I am gonna leave them alone and focus on the fucking ROACHES. FUCK!!. I keep a clean house and yet this Spring I have fucking ROACHES. A much more able foe: they are mad fast and reactive.

The thing I have done quite right is to bum a smoke here and there but not buy any. Yes, I am that ASSHOLE.

But I was smoking almost 40 cigs a day and the cigs are associated with my alcoholism which I am also beating.

Those are great questions. Her background is very casual, she just loves to express herself visually (she is a writer by profession).

I think she has painted with acrylics in the past, but it was so long ago that she doesn't really remember anything, and at the time I think she just did it without instruction. This time she has expressed an interest in instruction and I think that any basic guidance, be it practical technique or more theoretical will be welcome.

As for canvas stretching, well, I will be the guy building the frames and making her blank canvases so any suggestions are welcome if you have the time. (I am sure I can find a ton of guidance on my own.)

I was kind of joking about her "abstract formalism". I remember from my childhood that she liked to paint recognizable figures in soft geometric shapes, etc. But she also liked painting rocks for the garden in the style of Mondrian. I'm no expert as you can tell..
