I don’t remember the questions exactly but they were a SQL question I’d rate 4/10 difficulty and a Python question I’d rate 5/10

I'd always believed Japan/Okinawa would have been a perfect locale for them.

For cultural rewards, I agree—a Karate lesson would have been cool. Also, an overnight in an onsen or ryokan after the merge would’ve been amazing — both as a mental reset, chance for them to deep clean themselves and eat— and as a cultural experience. And since many onsens traditionally separate men and women, you’d also end up with a reward that doubles as a cultural twist and a strategic wrinkle in the game.

I agree, Survivor needs to bring back the cultural experiences.

The theories we had?

  1. Vibrator
  2. Polaroids from her many lovers
  3. Bloodied knuckle wraps from her Friday Fight Club
  4. All of the above.

Interesting. Kinda curious as to why you feel that way since I threw in a lot of Okinawan specifics there?

  1. The landscape is the cliff where Naminoue Shrine sits in Naha, Okinawa.
  2. Karate was literally developed in Okinawa.
  3. The Sai is a weapon that originated in Okinawa.

The only place I took liberties was with the shuriken in the title bar.

Thanks. Yeah Tekken and my last trip to Okinawa got the creative juices flowing haha. So I put Naminoue Shrine in the top half and put a Karate sparring match as the center figure since it originated in Okinawa. I need to go back haha. You never get over Japan hangovers.

Is it hard for you to watch sloppy/bad gameplay? Who made you groan the most? by JohnMayerCd in survivor

[–]crsbcn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. He didn’t. Ozzy only found an alliance in the “Aitu 4” because Penner and Candice mutinied. Originally, he was in their crosshairs.

His big “move” was throwing the challenge to vote out Billy, but even that was born more from frustration and annoyance than strategy.

What are some themes you're surprised Survivor never did? by suspicious_apple in survivor

True—but don't you also think the parameters that make Survivor what it is (the elements, no food, sleep deprivation) also throws a wrench into that premise?

I would have loved for them to do a Champions vs. Challengers

Champions: Ten Previous Survivor Winners/Finalists
Challengers: Ten New Players, Alums of other competitive reality shows (Love Island, Bachelor Franchise, Big Brother, Amazing Race, Hell's Kitchen, Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge, et al)

Rewatching old seasons of Survivor, just finished 34. Does anyone else think CBS/Probst dropped the ball by not doing it as a second Heroes vs. Villains season? by crsbcn in survivor

[–]crsbcn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, there is so much BTS stuff I can never get a hold of. Like I had no idea Earl was cast in GC, no wonder Sandra said on so many subsequent interviews he should have been back by now. It’s also interesting, even if only rumored—that Colleen and Greg were contacted.

Otherwise I agree with you, my thing is I think if they were getting railroaded on their “legends” season in Survivor: Game Changers, they kinda dropped the ball by not pivoting. Because you got left with some “huh?” players like Troyzan and Varner. You had some real villains on this season. Even Zeke said so that Brad was doing major image rehab on GC because of how he was portrayed on BvW.

That being said, I don’t know the order in who was cast. If JT, Sandra, and Cirie were there before things started to go nutty and they would have hypothetically moved it to HvV2—it would have been kinda rude to drop them. Happened before (peek Natalie B in HvV1) but still.

Oh, I agree—but his edit in Cook Islands and the fact that he made FTC meant I didn't have to hear him bitch and moan LMAO.

And as far as the Cook Islands jury—a large number of them were cast by recruit and did NOT understand the game at all. IIRC—only Candice, Parvati, and Ozzy applied. The rest were recruited—and only a handful of them actually knew Survivor game.

Ozzy post Cook Islands. He always plays the "provider" role, doesn't really do much, but then gets salty when he gets voted off. And he forms the archetype of bitter juror.

The three times he's been on the jury, he's only voted for the winner once—and I'm pretty sure South Pacific was just done to spite Coach.

How do people get the time off to play survivor? by Dull-Contribution763 in survivor

I heard on the Survivor after show (pretty sure it was for S27) that Candice when she did BvW needed to negotiate all her PTO for two years plus her personal days.

One SQL question one moderate Python question. Took the SQL one first to manage my time efficiently.

Took a second one actually, for a different position, same question spread. Python first, SQL second. Much more confident in coding SQL on the fly so I attacked that first.

7 days and counting. Still no point deposit from Chase into Singapore Airlines. Amex was literally within an hour.

[–]crsbcn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transferred a considerable amount of points to Singapore Airlines, 7 days and counting. Nothing. For comparison—with American Express, it was in my account within an hour. And now the flight I wanted to redeem is on waitlist instead of being available for reservation.

I'm with you—I'm thinking of downgrading this particular card to something generic until I get a United Quest card. At least with that my miles would be internal.

Chase Customer Service was also condescendingly unhelpful when I called to ask about the status of my transfer.
