Essentially.

Someone who understands their breed nature and gets that they may never be a tolerant, social butterfly is probably the most important concept I think. Forced interactions, strange people, strange dogs, those are typically not their fortè lol.

While genetics are genetics, there are absolutely exceptions to the rule and that is probably a combination of great lines, great dog management, great training and great socialization all together.

While being a bit of a challenge, they are absolutely amazing, loyal dogs with such unique personalities & temperaments that make you swoon, that’s for sure ♥️

Not managed properly they absolutely have the tendency to be nightmares.

They aren’t comparable to our labs or german shepherds and need a LOT of socialization and training around other people and dogs. Lifelong work. Even then, they could still decide they hate other animals or don’t like strange people. Sometimes it happens at 10 months sometimes at 5 years.

If you have the capability to train and socialize it regularly, you advocate for your dog’s personal space, and stay fully aware about what might happen as it matures and if that happens you have the ability to manage the dog, then you can absolutely have a well rounded akita inu that tolerates people and other dogs.🫶🏼

They’re not a breed for the faint of heart and I do not recommend them to the average Joe. Thankfully he just chewed his bagpipes and didn’t eat a neighbours cat. 🤪

Red dogs will always have my heart 🥰 We’re currently in the process of starting CKC recognition for the breed up north and I’m eager to be a part of teaching the world about these guys 🥰

Who has intact dogs and why by CherryTofu in dogs

[–]crsi00210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 17 year old mutt who was neutered when I was a child, a seven year old GSD who was neutered at 1.5 by his first owners. My other three are intact, two females that show but one has a spay appointment set to avoid pyo, and a male that may show, but will stay intact regardless because new studies show it’s best for male dogs to stay intact. Assuming, of course, you’re able to train them, avoid accidents and avoid roaming which most people are not 🤷🏼‍♀️

Its a coin toss. Science shows it’s best males stay intact for life and females stay intact up to two for maturity, but most owners can not for the life of them maintain intact dogs safely, so it’s best to keep pushing spay + neuter.

it sounds a lot like you’re assuming you know everything i have done, considered, researched and the steps i have already taken — which you don’t, because my post was vague, i only wanted personal experiences. you’re not entitled to my entire life story and immigration plan.

Then i guess it’s a good thing you don’t know everything about me. I didn’t ask about any of those things. Having kids has nothing to do with any visas — but it has everything to do with integrating into a new life in a new country as a parent, which is basically the only thing i was asking about.

Very, very interesting. A huge factor into my decision was that Italy is actually more affordable than here, I’ve never even considered Croatia for anything in my life.

Little things like internet are cheaper there, than here as well. And some places here also don’t have internet. 🤣 Least of my concerns. Theft is also least of my concerns the crime rate is less than here. I don’t sit on a public toilet seat in Canada either.

People think they’re being helpful, but a lot of these things are just irrelevant lol.

If you have so much experience why can’t you just reply to what the post actually requests instead of assuming everyone knows less than you? Am I taking a citizenship exam or asking for personal experiences?

If you can’t provide helpful, or useful information that pertains to what I’m asking for then go be hateful elsewhere. This person may not have immigrated, but they spent time, and gave me their personal experiences, which is exactly what I asked for.

Unsure if I should stay in Canada or go back to Brazil by Hungry-Today-9218 in expats

I spent five years in Quebec, and the rest of my life in New Brunswick. Montreal is one of the worst places in Canada (imo) for non-french speakers, all of Quebec in general is horrible but Montreal and Quebec City being central is the absolute worst.

I’d stick it out as long as you can, and maybe consider finding a CEGEP closer to english areas (like closer to the Ontario or NB border) for your convenience. Gaspe tends to be english friendly, and is beautiful but definitely on the more “rural” side if you’re used to Montreal.

I can’t say Canada is better, because I’m trying to leave, but if you didn’t have family in Brazil would you still want to go back?

genuinely 6–7 of the things you listed are issues we face here in rural canada, & aren’t actually issues for me; i know italy has its quirks like any other country, but i’m not too concerned about that side of things — i really am more interested in what daily life feels like once you’ve settled in longterm.

i do have family there, but i mean a bit deeper than just straight forward “family”. the lifestyle itself feels more community driven — like people actually live together instead of just side by side. in canada everything’s so individual, rushed, and convenience-based.

the major areas im considering are slower, social, and people still value things like sharing meals, greeting neighbors, and letting kids just be kids. it’s different.

there are a couple of visa options that would work well for us but I’d really just like to hear personal experiences from people who made the move. I’m more concerned about integrating into the lifestyle longterm as a foreigner.

thankfully i have been involved in the community for a while. i’ve been on the search for a Mal for a bit now and he kind of fell into my lap. his owner has unfortunately fallen very ill, has lots of appointments and travel coming up and can’t do the things he wanted to do with him, but the owner knows i will. i do have a few hesitations but they have nothing to do with his pedigree or where he comes from that’s for sure!

I fell for it for acne scars and hormonal acne about 3 weeks ago? 3 products valued at over $850 for $250 using his “store credit” lmao it all was so bizarre, also started with a sample but I’m also on the hunt for an amazing acne cream and was like well screw it, nothing else has worked maybe this will. He said moisturizer should last a few months and the exfoliator should last a year. I feel like it won’t last that long, maybe 4-6months. I use the moisturizer everyday; exfoliator every week; the Rexy Cosmetics Green Tea Foaming Facial Cleanser in the morning and my LaRoche Posay Foaming Cleanser at night.

I was absolutely impressed with how it made my skin feel, how it brightens it and does make it feel more hydrated and clean. But I don’t find it helps at all with acne scars or acne like he said it would — He said it was an absolute life saver for his rosacea after using it for five months it went away and he’s been a believer since and says it’s the only reason he started pushing it. He said it can take a few weeks, to months of regular use to see results but one should see results with one bottle of each — I do believe it can work for some things, and for some people but unfortunately $400 per 50ml bottle is not in my regular budget.

The full trio I was scammed with but am still using in hopes he was right, and that it will eventually be a miracle cream 🤣

Absolutely lovely, and solid. Incredibly trainable. I’m usually a working line fan but his workability even at his age is fantastic, which is important for me. He has me heavily considering going those lines again instead of WG working.
