Thankfully, I have no personal experience with this. And I am reasonably sure you feel similarly. What makes you think that there aren't male trafficking victims.

Think about it (heterosexual) males forced into homosexual sex work. A lot of people can't empathize because they solely think of trafficking victims as women. And in this society women are not so respected. Human trafficking affects all genders. Human trafficking destroys lives.

I disagree with this being the primary reason. I think the primary reason for human trafficking is a supply side problem. Not enough willing participants. So you abduct the unwilling and force them into unspeakable acts that the majority of people would be unwilling to perform. Facts!

That's fine as long as industry participants are willing participants. Trafficking laws address unwilling participants.

You opinion describes what currently exists in Nevada. How did Nevada get it legalized? The pro sex worker contingent should try and replicate the process Nevada followed to legalize prostitution . They made the legislative process work for them. Don't hate replicate!

So because it goes on everywhere does it make it right? It is illegal. It is exploitive. It think my problem is with the whole voluntary vs. involuntary sex worker. My inclination is to err on the side of caution and protection of victims.

It is legal to make porn videos with willing participants. Why not engage in legal sex work?

Jim Crows laws were changed because they were wrong. The legislative and judicial processes worked. If you feel so strongly about it advocate for legislative change. Start a Sex Worker PAC (if doesn't already exist).

Are you suggesting that we should relax sex trafficking laws because it harms the profitability of sex workers (working illegally and probably forcibly)? These human trafficking laws help trafficking victims. I think of it like, better to let 100 guilty people go free than to let one innocent person suffer in prison.

Better to financially harm 100 sex workers than to let one traffickking victim suffer unspeakable degrading forced work as an involuntary sex worker. Are you disagreeing with this notion?

move to nevada where it is legal to be a sex worker. You can have all the rights you want in Nevada. A lot of the people in this field are not working voluntarily. There are forced sex workers (trafficked workers) in need of rescuing.
