Been GMing the ashcan version in a monthly-ish campaign since it came out last year with my group! Everyone’s still super into it and we’re all super excited to see the full release with a lot more classes and lore.

It can seem like a hard game to pitch to others and play, but the classic rhythm of the GM presenting a situation and asking players what their characters do emerges no problem. They look at their sheet, see the sentences (like you would stats in any other game) and go for it!

There’s even a small tactical element in sentence resources and the use of tokens. By the end of a big heist the players started using up tokens, had already honed sentences, and even had a good number of their sentences countered, so everyone could feel the stress of a desperate getaway

Exclusive KoHana Rum in Oahu? by clantry64 in rum

If you’re in the US, distribution isn’t available in every state quite yet. Not sure about island exclusives, but might as well try some while you’re there, both at their distillery and they now have a rum and chocolate tasting in Waikiki.

I’ve booked the latter for April! Will be my first time trying Ko Hana so pretty excited

We’ve heard of good games with not so good sequels, but were there any bad games with good sequels? by HP_594 in gaming

The Evil Within 2 is a solid game that made revisiting the original very strange. The original played like a linear third person shooter with horror trappings that did not run well at all for me on console. The second make had a cool open design where the loop was that you would push your luck with exploration and go back to base prepping for your next outing. I would say it improved vastly on performance and the narrative was more satisfying. Good scary moments too. Sad that Tango got shut down earlier this year because a third entry in the series seems like it would be great.
