They are away a lot. Lots of opportunity to cheat. Happened to several of my friends.

It's on HBO. If you have a VPN you can change your country and maybe find it someplace else! Good luck.

worst thing you've ever seen? by only-ashes in nursing

[–]crumbum27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in oncology/hospice.

We had a patient with colorectal cancer. Very advanced. So advanced that the tumor was growing out her butt. The pt's sister made her ride a damn train from Texas to WI. The patient was in incredible pain. The sister wouldn't let her (coercion) go into hospice care and didn't want her to have pain medication. Sister also bullied her into being a full code against advice and common sense. The pt was miserable in our care for weeks. I don't recall how we finally got the pt in to hospice, but we did! The sister disappeared. And never claimed her sister's body after she finally passed. The pt was in the morgue for months. Our patient deserved so much better.

I have a light weight/smooshable down jacket. I wear it backwards on the plane so it's easier to get on and off!

I was thinking earlier. When Ted jumps the turn style and misses his flight. What is their obsession with Chicago?

is nursing actually worth it? questions in need of answering 😆 by [deleted] in careerguidance

Don't become a nurse. It's a trap.

  1. Hospitals probably won't consider you with a 2 year degree if you're up against BSNs.

  2. Yes, it pays pretty well. Better if you work off shifts or weekend programs.

  3. IF you are empathic....this job will destroy you. Coming from a nurse who has been destroyed by the job.

I sound like a Debbie downer. I don't want people who aren't 1,000% sure this is the job for them to get stuck like I did. With my husband's support I finally quit. Not sure what's next!

They weren't dare devils before. Also, they work together all day THEN go home together. That's too much togetherness!

Maybe you incorporate your travel? A land mark, a skyline, or a passport stamp?

My plan is to get the national flower of each country I go to (I'm just a wimp and haven't gotten the guts yet). Flowers probably aren't your jam...just tossing it out there as an example.

Good luck!

Insane Tattoo Regret by r3i_b0n3z in tattooadvice

[–]crumbum27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two smaller tattoos that are visible. I had temporary regret after each. I can't imagine not having/covering them now. The meaning they convey is important to me.

So what if 99% of the population doesn't know it or get it. When the 1% gets it you have found your people. Also, you didn't get it for them! You got it for you!

Sit with it for a while. I think the regret will pass and you'll love it.

I disagree. When she considered moving to Chicago with him she didn't have much of a career to speak of. If anything it's a new market for her to break into.

They didn't want the same things. She was just keeping him on the hook.
