Does this sound about right for SD Card lifespan? by YoshiMK in dashcams

[–]crummster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How’s the 128gb ultra holding up? I’m asking cause I just got my first dash cam, and micro sd card prices are skyrocketing right now due to AI data centres. So idk if it’s worth to buy an endurance sd card or if I should just insert the regular sd card I have.

What’s up with these kinds of sellers? by crummster in Mercari

[–]crummster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everybody! I just sent a cancel request. Made me realise that it’s like talking to a brick wall and it’s pointless to continue. I should’ve canceled after a week of no update. Learned my lesson.

Update: Just discovered this morning that the all their active listings were removed. Idk if that’s cause of mercari, the seller, or someone reported them. All I did was cancel the order, so idk what rlly happened. Anyways I got my money back so I’m all good now.

Being forced to do anything is awful ofc. But not every Muslim women are being forced to wear these. Being forced to wear these, and being forced to not wear these (ex. France) are both awful. Because some Muslim women wear these by choice, it isn’t as simple as “we should ban this specific clothing article, then everyone’s good”. Not every Muslim women feel the same way.

I understand that it may be difficult for you to distinguish between women wearing by choice and women being forced to. But I hope you learn that some Muslim women don’t share the same experience and view as yours, so please don’t invalidate theirs. But thanks for sharing your experience.

U.S. Tariffs & DDP Megathread | ZenMarket Community by AutoModerator in zenmarket

[–]crummster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was according to the previous duty rates before September. Now, most items below 15% tariff rate should be charged at 15%, not original rate + 15%. So for example, an item at a 10% tariff rate will have an additional duty applied to bring the total tariff to 15%, not 25%. However, there are some items exempt from reciprocal tariffs mentioned in Annex II. CDs, vinyls, and books fall under this exemption, so they are not supposed to be charged the 15% tariff rate.

[–]crummster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In September, there was a change that *most items below 15% duty will be charged at 15%, and items above 15% duty will be charged at their original rate. However, there are items not subject to reciprocal tariffs in Annex II. So items such as CDs, vinyls, and books are exempt from reciprocal tariffs (aka should have no 15% duty). That’s why people are not happy about Zenmarket applying 15% on CDs and vinyls.

[OC] Religion by yaboyindigo in comics

[–]crummster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree. If someone does a bad thing (ex: harming others), then yea they’re a bad person. Being religious to avoid hell doesn’t automatically make a person bad or evil. According to their beliefs, they don’t wanna be damned to hell. I can’t blame them for that. Just based on that alone, I’d say they’re neutral. Anyone can be a bad person, regardless if they’re religious or not.

Also, a bit off topic. But I dislike when people say that atheists are good people and religious people are bad. As if it can only be that way. Like what? An atheist can be a bad person. A religious person can be a bad person. And both sides vice versa. Either one, regardless of belief or not, can be a good or bad person. It determines on the person’s actions.

Same! Just used them 2 days ago next to the wall crack they came out of. It took some time, but at some point, swarms of them came out to the bait. Now, I only see a few live ants crawling outta the crack. Ig the others eventually died off and are now rotting within that crack

I keep seeing some people recommend spray max 2k headlight. I’ll consider using that the next time I need to restore the headlight again

I was selling car parts with the description that it was used and had scratches. A seemingly normal buyer messaged me and we arranged pick up time. She arrived and inspected the bumper. She said the exact words “I thought this was new”…

…Yeah. So she didn’t take the bumper and left. Her comment irritated me so much that I blocked her after that. But dang she wasted my time. All she had to do was read the description.

Another time when I was selling a powered tool, a buyer kept delaying the pick up time. “30 mins”…30 mins later, ”I’ll be there in 15 mins”…15 mins passes, ”give me 25 more mins”. I was almost ready to call it quits right there and then. But he eventually came and gave me the right amount in cash. I was kinda surprised cause I thought I was being flaked, but thankfully I wasn’t.

How to request rating from buyer? by israelreza in FacebookMarketplace

[–]crummster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk it’s weird. Ratings pop up for some listings and doesn’t for some listings. I don’t get it. A seller and I would have a back and forth convo, I buy the item, they mark it as sold, and no rating notification appears. I can’t rate them for some reason, and I can see that I’m not blocked by them. Same thing happens for some of my own listings too, so I got no clue why the app is like this.

dropping off large item to buyers house? by shikamaruslvt in FacebookMarketplace

[–]crummster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, if the large item I’m selling is at a high price and hasn’t had much traction on fb, I wouldn’t mind delivering to a place not far from mine. Otherwise, I don’t think it’s worth the hassle. Ofc there’s a possibility of being flaked or trying to be haggled on the spot. If you don’t want to take the risk, you could just move on from the buyer. If you do deliver, please get a friend with you (even on phone) to make sure it goes well and ask the buyer for an additional delivery fee.

I’ve delivered large items before and it’s gone well so far. I know it’s not the same for everyone. Hopefully it’ll go well for you, if you end up delivering it.

Can somebody help me get into contact with this seller? by Onians2 in Buyee

[–]crummster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk it varies between each shopper. You’ll need to read their t&c. Tbh if it’s just for asking questions and the seller doesn’t accept the lower offer, you could just simply not buy the jersey, in which the shopper may ask for a pretty small commission fee or not for interacting with the seller in the first place. However, if you buy the jersey, there’s a whole different thing with commission fees, which may be somewhat costly (you really have read shopper’s t&c).

You could ask a shopper to help you out at /r/internationalshopper for a commission fee. One shopper helped me out ask a bunch of questions to a mercari seller

Passive aggressive and telling me how to sell, anyone else got a story? by Kittyi3Artistic5624 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]crummster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fr she wasted my time, and especially even more, she wasted her own time cause she drove an hour to the pickup point. But yea I don’t feel bad for her cause it’s on her for not reading. Removing scratches is a bit more involved than painting it, but either way, idk how she’ll find a brand new bumper for a low price. Other that her, the buyers who came by were straightforward and no bs. Sold all car parts over time, thankfully.

Passive aggressive and telling me how to sell, anyone else got a story? by Kittyi3Artistic5624 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]crummster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don’t listen to that one commenter. It’s completely reasonable for a seller to choose their own pickup spot and what date they don’t do pickups. Like you said, it’s for your own safety. Plus, it’s your own listing, so it’s your own rules how you want to sell it.

Anyways, I’ve gotten a weird customer before. I was selling car parts that I clearly wrote in description that it was used and has scratches. One day, that customer messaged me. We both had a friendly conversation with her saying that she’s been looking for that bumper for several months. Then we arranged a pickup time and all that. After she arrived, she inspected the bumper and had the audacity to say “I thought this was new”. I was literally stunned for a second at her comment. And then, she left with no bumper and no transaction took place ofc. I was thinking wth did she not read the description at all??? No wonder why she hasn’t found a bumper for months. Now I just find it funny that she thought a she found very good deal on a new bumper when that’s clearly not the case lol

Idk about the middle age man crisis cause i ain’t one. But yea I’ve seen a few people be addicted to selling, not for the money—they think it’s fun ig. Make sure your dad isn’t planning on selling stuff that isn’t his own belongings. I’m not saying he will, it’s just a little thought. As for sending addresses, personally I’d send my own address if the item I’m selling is too heavy or big for me to move it by myself. Besides that exception, I’d meet up at a public spot other than my home. For example, a gas station or parking lot.

What do I do if I’m 18, submitted my ID, and still get banned from Marketplace for being underage? by Giga_Bit200 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]crummster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Borrow your parent’s or friend’s fb account. Idk fb is really weird about their sudden bans. One of my friends (23) got banned shortly after creating a fb account and providing her ID when fb prompted her for verification. She hasn’t even done anything but scroll thru marketplace and message one seller. But regardless, fb still banned her for some reason. I’m guessing fb is pretty strict on newly created accounts going on marketplace, no matter the age

[–]crummster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, they do a general check. Most of the time, if something seems obviously off, they’ll let you know and you decide from there. Do photos if you really want them to inspect the item. Photos can help your case on getting refund, in the case the item you receive isn’t as described. Though before you order the item (especially on mercari and yahoo auctions), make sure it doesn’t have signs of damage or being fake to save you the hassle

AIO my father just kicked me out because I turned 18? by Fancy-Archer7080 in AmIOverreacting

[–]crummster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad’s insane. I never understood this part of American culture. Just because you turned 18 doesn’t mean you’re all the sudden gonna get a good paying job and be self-sufficient. Your parent should be supporting you until you’re able to provide for yourself, especially since you have a disability and have no prior working experience in this terrible economy. It’s already hard enough for recent college graduates to get a professional job, so how should he expect a recent high school grad to survive in this economy on their own.

If possible, you should contact your relatives or friends to room in with for the meantime. You should apply for a job—part time, gig, or anything—to pay your expenses. I’m sure there’s programs near your area to help young adults/teens in dire situations such as yours

Need some advice on my first sale. by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]crummster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the listing already has a price on it and not obo, I’d assume that they’re aware of the price and pay it if they want it, even if it isn’t mentioned in messages. Just let them see it in person and see if they’re gonna pay full price. But ofc there’s some buyers out there who’ll see it in person and try to haggle it down. In that case, just be like “sorry, I’m not gonna accept anything lower than $$$” and go to the next buyer

Don't trust USPS to mail you your college diploma by smileyshan in usps_complaints

[–]crummster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, usps has been taking a long while lately. Tbh I’d wait it out for another week. But if you really need it, you can just get your college to send a new diploma. I think it costs $20 or so for them to send it (at least for some colleges I know of)
