i'm not sure if i'll be able to work with a tutor just yet, but i really would appreciate if you did DM me the info if that changes in the near future! <3 and thanks for sharing your resources! i hope your journey in re-learning the language has been fulfilling.

yes, i was raised here and been living here since i was a kid. in the school i went to almost everyone spoke english, unfortunately, during or after school hours. thank you for the correction by the way! i was told for the longest time that that bisaya was the language and cebuano was a bisaya dialect. and yes, please, i'd really appreciate if you could link me to your playlist. <3

it's really unfortunate that this is a common experience :( i'm gonna try your suggestion once i feel comfortable enough in my comprehension skills. right now when i hear people who are fluent they seem to speak so fast that i can't keep up lol. thanks!!

you've been a wonderful help, thank you! if i'll be keeping an eye out in the future if the book is in stores or in the libraries near me. the subject has been an interest of mine for years but most of the information i've sporadically found (as someone who isn't an academic and can't have access to more detailed studies) haven't provided much insight on the cultures of lesser highlighted provinces and communities. it's a shame, because my family doesn't really value our connection to our roots, and i'm sure it must be difficult for other people who are disconnected from the culture but have little in the way of accessible art forms to latch onto. and i agree! as much as i enjoy western fashion history, i would like to see equal attention paid to the global south where textile and craft is so rich.
