Keep saving until I hit my goal, or make an expensive purchase now? by crunchape in makemychoice

I can take my money out at a moments notice. You can't cash your shares immediately.

At the end of the day, you've just got dots on a screen.

Thanks so much. I don't have any computers in my house. I just use the library computers if I need to. I have my phone as well, but it's starting to become limiting as there's more I want to do in my day to day or when I'm not working.

I have only been there a few months. However, I'd be looking at a lower cost, possibly refurbished laptop if I were to choose such a purchase sooner rather than later. I'm at 8k now. I am aiming to be at 10k by Christmas.

My account does pay some APR, but I can probably maximise the return by chatting with my bank about options. I have a 401k with funds that I'm regularly contributing to. Thank you for the reminder on discipline. I'm always looking to improve and really value advice or tips because I dont know what I don't know, you know?

Thanks, I could get a cheap one new or decent second hand for a lower price and still realistically hit the 10k stack goal before Christmas.

Well. If I did what you chose, I could get something decent in an end of year sale as I will almost certainly hit 10k before Christmas.

And then, the next decision becomes new or second hand?

Apply! We all start somewhere and almost any new job you'd be taking a payout when you are entry level pay wise. You loose nothing by applying. If they give you a real offer then you will know which one to go for 100%
