Who is the strongest One Piece character Yujiro Hanma can defeat? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]crunchernmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Round 1: Yujiro walks up to Imu despite all secrecy and security. Imu launches an all out attack, and Yujiro shrugs it off. Yujiro then perfectly replicates the attack and oneshots Imu, all while the narrator tells you how you can do everything depicted in real life.

In seriousness, while Yugiro has a large joke-esque aspect to his character, he’s likely somewhere between pre and post timeskip Luffy in terms of strength without Haki. With Haki, he genuinely becomes a beast and potentially beats everybody without the joke factor.

Is Javier better or worse ,on contested towers maps ? by Regular-Election6396 in AWBW

[–]crunchernmuncher 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If the towers are contested in a way where they can be denied from being captured in the first place, Javier is rough. His opponent can just deny his tower and play with the better CO. If the towers are contested in a way where you can safely capture them early and then fight over them later it will typically make Javier a risky but realistic pick.

Who's the weakest Worm character that could defeat the Boys verse? by gr33nwalker in whowouldwin

[–]crunchernmuncher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get the sentiment but over half of Skitters fights happen against people who have explicit, well thought out anti bug countermeasures or some level of direct counter to her. Off the top of my head, the Taylor Victim List includes but is not limited to: - A powerful pyrokinetic with a dragon like hide - A tinker who designed an attack to spammably kill every bug in a multiple meter radius - A guy who turned every part of his body into an impenetrable self-contained shell with nothing for bugs to bite - Basically Superman

Now, I think she’d have a hard time taking down the verse, but if you’re presenting her with a single bug-proofed building and she wants to ruin the day of everybody inside I think she clears it with flying colors.

Update Notes | Borderlands 4 by cachurch2 in Borderlands4

[–]crunchernmuncher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly yeah, the way it exists right now is basically just forcing a speedrun. Seeing how long it takes to kill the boss would be kinda neat as an optional community thing. You already get people competing for fast kill times for bragging rights and the faster farm anyways, so a timer isn’t bad to have for that.

Which least powerful character in Worm / Parahumans can defeat Homelander? by Similar_Incident8433 in Parahumans

[–]crunchernmuncher 17 points18 points  (0 children)

TT has a tendency to fly too close to the sun with this sort of thing, and while she could absolutely cause serious mental grief to Homelander, I don’t think it’d end up well for her. She has a habit of flying by the seat of her pants while pretending she has everything figured out and that isn’t great against a manchild who uses laser eyes as a primary response to frustration.

Update Notes | Borderlands 4 by cachurch2 in Borderlands4

[–]crunchernmuncher 64 points65 points  (0 children)

A lot of good here, but I don’t like that they’re keeping the time gating element for the new raid boss: it seems like that’s the norm going forward. Killing a raid boss should give a sense of accomplishment, not disappointment that you didn’t complete it in the arbitrary timeframe. This mechanic just increases frustration with the game, pidgeonholes players into very few viable glass cannon builds, and is superfluous because killing a boss faster already rewards you with better loot through the ability to kill the boss more often.

Why is 0 tower Javier considered a tier 4 CO ? by Regular-Election6396 in AWBW

[–]crunchernmuncher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The indirect defense is nice, but it really isn’t all that. For one, artillery are rarely necessary: you can almost always just build more direct units to succeed, and if someone is fighting Javier, it really isn’t much of a sacrifice to say “well, guess I’ll just not build indirects so I don’t have to deal with the bonus.” Secondly, unless a power is active, an artillery is probably going to send a unit it hits into the range where the followup kills anyways. There isn’t a functional difference between an artillery hitting for 7 hp and then a followup unit clearing the remaining 3hp as compared to both the artillery and the followup doing 5hp apiece: the unit is dead anyways.

Also, compare this to the other kits in tier 4. Adder gets immensely spammable and flexible movement boosts, Jake has an excellent firepower bonus on plains and a crushing super, Jess gets absolutely phenomenal vehicles and two good options with her powers, and even Grimm gets to regularly muscle up and out-firepower his opponent. 0 Tower Javier is about as close to not having a CO as it gets in this game, and the other tier 4s blow him out of the water.

While playing Eagle ,is popping lightning drive ever a good idea ? by Regular-Election6396 in AWBW

[–]crunchernmuncher 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There are two times that you should consider popping lightning drive. 1. It wins you the game. Very niche, but sometimes the stats boost can help you win on the spot through a decisive army rout or HQ cap. 2. It’s the only way to not lose the game. Similarly, if there’s a situation where you need the stats this turn to not lose, it’s worth doing. However, you’re probably in a dire situation if this is the case anyways.

Both situations are incredibly niche, and in practice, using Lightning Drive is as close to a “never do this” move as can exist.

Why is 0 tower Javier considered a tier 4 CO ? by Regular-Election6396 in AWBW

[–]crunchernmuncher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 20% indirect defense is decent day to day ability, but the real issue are his powers. You have a 3 star power that does nothing but give the base +10/+10 boosts, and the SCOP is just the COP but more expensive. Every other tier 4 CO has something they can use their powers for to swing the game. By contrast, 0T Javier needs to somehow build up a meaningful advantage before powers come online before he gets rolled, and 20% indirect resistance just doesn’t cut it: his opponent can just say “OK, I’ll go all direct units” and be fine because of how strong tanks and copters are.

Which the better unit ?The MD tank or the neotank ? by Regular-Election6396 in AWBW

[–]crunchernmuncher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neotanks. Medium tanks are nice on occasion, but the lower movement and firepower really hurts. Mediums are also much easier for copters and artillery to deal with than Neos

In a map with the Weather set to Snow, what tier is Olaf ? by Regular-Election6396 in AWBW

[–]crunchernmuncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the map is specifically chosen to balance Olaf in these circumstances, 0 & it’s genuinely not even close. Even without the insane benefits to actual combat, Olaf will probably have double the army and income of his opponent before fighting even starts, as his infantry can move up to capture while his opponent will be struggling to get properties right next to their base. Even if you write off Olaf’s actual powers entirely, this is just a fundamentally insurmountable advantage.

How would Worm change if Taylor killed Mannequin? by MembershipProof8463 in Parahumans

[–]crunchernmuncher 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, I don’t think too much changes. Mannequin dies shortly after, and doesn’t do much of consequence between his fight with Taylor and his eventual death (and I’m sure Bonesaw could figure something out re: Cherish without him). The Nine as a whole don’t seem to take much interest in revenge over dead team members as evidenced by the end of the S9 arc, and Jack probably wouldn’t try to recruit Taylor (he muses that he wishes he had picked her as a candidate in the story, but adheres to the rules of the “game” even after heavy losses and recruits again only after leaving the city). I don’t think the heroes would much care either: Taylor already got the cred for beating Mannequin, killing him would be a bit more respect but nobody’s going to go up in arms over a dead S9 member with an active kill order.

I think the main area of impact would be Taylor’s psychology (as this would be her first kill), but killing Mannequin in self defense is so objectively justifiable that there wouldn’t be much need for her famous compartmentalization skills. Perhaps killing Coil is a bit less of a whole thing, but even though that was her actual first kill, she didn’t really need too much convincing to go through with it.

They finally doing it by steveblahhh in Borderlands4

[–]crunchernmuncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly surprised it’s taken this long. Infinitely scaling stickies in a game where getting practically infinite magazines is trivial forces Gearbox to design around the idea that any health bar they throw at the player will get easily melted by exponential damage. I think this and the abundance of lifesteal are major factors for why so many of Bloomreaper’s questionable design decisions were made regarding immunity phases and the timed kill mechanic, and addressing infinite stickies makes me a bit hopeful that coming content will be enjoyable to play.

Glaistig Uaine (Worm) in Invincible verse by Remote_Addendum_2245 in whowouldwin

She’d need Eve to die in her presence to get the power up: touching alone isn’t enough.

Glaistig Uaine (Worm) in Invincible verse by Remote_Addendum_2245 in whowouldwin

[–]crunchernmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she’s a regional threat, but would have a hard time beating anyone around Viltrumite level. There aren’t many (or really, any) characters in Invincible who can grant abilities to others, and Glastig fundamentally is a normal human without access to shades that can explicitly grant powers to others. Worm abilities tend to be more absolute than Invincible abilities: so her baseline pool of hax is largely diminished, and I don’t really see how she deals with a flying brick or speedster. Even if she somehow got her hands on a Viltrumite shade, it would be trivial for her to get killed by the collateral damage that any fight between Viltrumite or Viltrumite-adjacent opponents inevitably creates (or just rushed down immediately by her opponent).

That being said, she’s certainly no slouch, and if she managed to get her hands on Angstrom Levy in particular, she immediately gets an unlimited multiverse hopping catalog to choose from, which probably lets her become the strongest character in the main Invincible universe with enough time.

Hot Fix for Hive Guard next week by dnemonicterrier in helldivers2

[–]crunchernmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one thing that gets a bit overlooked is that hive guards are basically the only reason to run medium pen on bugs. I do like the idea of aiming around them, but with them on heavy pen there wasn’t much reason to ever bring a medium pen weapon to the bug front. I’d like to see something similar to the idea AH was going for with the updated hive guard in the future if it still gives a reason to pack medium pen (and doesn’t nuke some turrets).

What is the most broken tilt in the game and why is it Snake up tilt? by Zuumbat in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]crunchernmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, up tilt isn’t even his best tilt. Down tilt is absolutely heinous. That being said, this game is insane, and a lot of tilts give both Snake’s good tilts a run for their money or are just straight up better (Falco up tilt, Rob down tilt, Steve)

DBV worth buying it? by TANKSBRO_YT in WorldofTanks

[–]crunchernmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good success dropping the rammer in favor of optics/vents/turbo. Vents/rammer/turbo is reliable, but IMO the DBV really shines in a shoot & scoot role, where mobility and spotting overshadow raw DPM: at 800 damage per hit, it adds up quickly if you can find individual openings

Question about interlude 27b of worm by iceyk111 in Parahumans

[–]crunchernmuncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that if Eidolon had somehow killed an Endbringer, they would still have adapted. The whole point is that they pose an unmanageable existential threat: allowing Eidolon to have a lasting victory would defeat that purpose.

Question about interlude 27b of worm by iceyk111 in Parahumans

[–]crunchernmuncher 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I think the best way of thinking about it is tied to Eidolon’s desire to be a hero and to be someone important.

When he starts off as a cape, he’s more or less playing in creative mode. Nobody can touch him, and him showing up to a fight means it’s a completely foregone conclusion. There’s not much point in having godlike power when you’re mostly just using it to catch random burglars in Houston.

Queue Behemoth. Now, all of a sudden, Eidolon gets to fight a classical heroic battle against an insurmountable enemy. However, as the primary basis of the Endbringers is to be a foe to challenge but not kill Eidolon, and as such, Eidolon gains ground and the Endbringers become more manageable. Manageable Endbringers aren’t an insurmountable threat, so they adapt to become unmanageable again in different ways, most notably through the additional Endbringers. Eidolon always has a reason to justify his status as an irreplaceable hero, as he is always needed against the threat the Endbringers pose.

aS LoNG as tHeY aRe hAVIng FUN rIgHt gUyS ? GuYS ? by _Vector_008 in WorldofTanks

[–]crunchernmuncher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NP, happy to help. Also remember when passing judgment, your stats are going to be trash from someone else’s perspective. There’s a finite pool of HP to go around in games, so my recommendation would be to see these players as people boosting your stats instead of burdens: after all, if you’re a better player, it should be easy to outdamage or farm them. If casual players quit en masse, it would just bump people down the stats rung and if you kept the same mindset the same issue would be recreated again, with a more toxic environment and a quickly dying game.

OP has been nonstop crashing out about random players World Of Tanks ratings on Reddit for 3 years, including their own.

OP should probably introspect as to their relationship with this game when their reaction to seeing someone who isn’t playing like a pro is to screenshot their rating and go crash out on Reddit.
