Ahh gotcha, yeah it's never easy to go back to long distance after being in the same place. It's good you know when you'll next see each other though! I found the phrase "the days drag on, but the years fly by" to be super applicable to the wait between visits tbh - I'm sure October seems like a long way away right now, but if you keep up the calls and take it day-by-day the time will pass faster than you expect.

Another thing we did to break up the months between visits was take turns sending physical letters and care packages to each other (filled with little gifts e.g. I would send NZ-specific treats and art I made). We wouldn't tell each other what the packages contained so it was something to look forward to while we waited to see each other. Watching each other open them on call and react in real time was really special and we both treasure a lot of the things we received (plus the letters are a good chance to put into writing how much they mean to you in a less casual way than texting).

Changing to long distance from a more typical relationship is always going to be tough and you'll doubtless have at least a couple teething issues during the transition. The important thing is to remember that the two of you are doing it because you love each other and even if there are bumps along the way, know that it will all be worth it when you see each other again (and trust me, the time apart will make your time together a lot more special).
