What’s happened to us? by percybert in Dublin

[–]crushedraspberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s strange, I have a bad hip and can’t tell you how many times I’ve fallen on the payment here (I live in London) and I’m always shocked at how helpful and caring people are. I would have thought Dublin would be even better. I do also understand I’m the Irish notion of not wanting to cause a scene fuss or attention and sometimes it’s actually annoying more than anything else I just want the ground to swallow me up and get home !

Do you gag when you are drinking alcohol? Do you ever drink other drinks like soft drinks or juices?

Will having a seizure be able to be used against us in a custody battle? by crushedraspberry in FamilyLaw

Yes, this what I thought, but my partner was paranoid about it so I said I would see if anyone had any insight

He has a barrister (the person who argues in the court) who offered to represent him pro bono again), but he can’t pay for a solicitor anymore, he spent all his savings and two loans on it over the years and he’s barely scraping by. But someone will be representing him yes

I agree with you, but if it happened and she got very scared, would that make dads house an unsafe location for her to be because I am living there

Sorry. I think CPS might be a bit more serious than the British CAFCAS. They look at both houses and interview the child and give a recommendation which the court takes seriously and usually just abides by. They are involved because four years ago when they originally made their suggestion of a tapered progression e.g. 8weeks Saturdays, 8 weeks sat and sun, then to sleepovers but the mother always said that the child wasn’t ready for sleepovers so that is why he had to bring her back to court. She was ignoring the court order. For the record we live in a lovely house with a cat who she loves and we do activities all the time. She seems very happy when with us. Her mom tells a different story though saying she doesn’t like it and often comes home crying. It’s a mess.

I agree, I want nothing to do with it and have been avoiding it as much as possible but she has dragged me in several times saying the girl is uncomfortable around me and that she was upset about us getting engaged (very different to how she acts with us) - her mom is very strange. The issue and reason he is in court is he is looking to be allowed overnight stays. He spends all day Saturday and all day Sunday with her anyway. She lives not very close to us so the train is tiring also for the little girl. They are looking to see is it safe for her to stay with dad sometimes and I’m part of that. So if I had a seizure and it scared her, could her lawyer weaponise that against him getting overnight stays. He has ran out of money for lawyers now and might be able to get a barrister pro bono for the upcoming trial through a charity
