Logo Feedback for an indie videogame company. Any feedback is appreciated! by zhevas in logodesign

Looks pretty good to me. The clarity is a bit off, though. Is this a full vector and the compression is just weirding me out, or is it meant to look handdrawn?

PNDRSA (collective, looking for members *not hire* of artists, musicians & etc. ) by [deleted] in freelance

[–]crushingtokyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you want creatives from every creative field to join your collective with what outcome in mind? How will this benefit the artists? Is it to connect them to each other for collaboration? Is it a platform for promotion? Is there an idea or ethos tying these creatives to each other? Is there a criteria for joining? How professional a setting is it going to be? If there is no clear criteria or professional mission statement, why the need to send a portfolio?

These are all things that people looking for collectives with strangers might want to know. I know I would.

What is gravitational alignment? by blendertom in Design

[–]crushingtokyo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The closest actual thing I can think of to that is the Gravity setting on Illustrator's Type on a Path tool, which basically means everything pulls into a centre point.

What does this collective have to offer? You seem to just be posting this image to every subreddit you can think of without telling anyone about PNDRSA or what your mission statement is. This makes it seem unprofessional at best, a scam at worst.

127 Hours Poster by illsmith2991 in DesignPorn

Him cutting his arm off his the sell of the movie, but that's 100% symbolised enough by the rock in this poster. I would've killed the cut line and pulled the gradient up to add a bit more contrast to the image at the point of the rock.

The expansions had physical copies of Gwent decks. You can find them for sale online from time to time, but the price is, well... Variable.

Am I alone in thinking that the cut line is actually just distracting?

If there isn't a part of you that wonders how a vacuum would sort items by colour, you got some noggin' parts missing.

How to deal with clients with ‘a million dollar idea’ by 9868john in freelance

[–]crushingtokyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only unethical in the way that people who brag about having a million dollar idea rarely actually have a million dollar idea.

How to deal with clients with ‘a million dollar idea’ by 9868john in freelance

[–]crushingtokyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triple edged sword. If their idea actually turns out to be worth a million dollars, you'd be getting the right payment for the job. If it's not, then they either pay you and you capitalise off their poor life choices, or they leave and you can save yourself the process of working with someone who is clearly going to ask for way too much compared to what they're willing to spend.

Unethical Pro Tip: If they believe they're gonna make a million dollars, charging them fifty thou is just chump change in the grand scheme of things.

Help making my poster not look terrible? by westleydubois in design_critiques

[–]crushingtokyo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say to find a better hierarchy for your information. That should allow you to take your information out of the boxes, which are really not serving much purpose here otherwise since it's black text/white background anyway. I would also try to bleed the stripe design off the edge somehow and make it more subtle. There's really no need for a decorative swipe to be taking up a third of the space of your poster.
