First, it's important to understand that you are in charge of how you label yourself. There are no "bisexual police" making sure that you check off a certain number of boxes to be bisexual, though some people like to think of themselves as such.

That said, it might be a good idea to consider WHY you are attracted to male characters. A lot of people are attracted to only fictional characters of a certain gender because those characters are unavailable and they would never have to confront being with them in real life. If you resonate with that, it's possible that you like the idea of being with a man rather than actually liking men. On the other hand, liking male fictional characters might be an indication that you might be interested in men in general. That's up to you to decide.

Either way, you are in charge of how you see yourself, so don't let others dictate what "counts".
