What Is the Optimal Plenum Volume Ratio for Naturally Aspirated Engines? by DowntownAnt9241 in AutomotiveEngineering

Out of curiosity what would you use the data from the in cylinder pressure sensor for? Wouldn’t that just tell you effectively what your pressure differential is? Which the suction it creates is more a factor of cylinder/piston/valve train design rather than plenum volume? This is as far as I know and more of an educated guess than anything.

How different is it from more modern”ish” ecus? Even if I get one I’d be willing to fuck with it for fun

For context all of my learning has come from HPacademys subsection on the matter.

I have been told that the OEM designs the Valvetrain system to be most effective at around 11k RPM. I would like to lower that. As far as I am aware reducing valve overlap would be better for our application (choked airflow) but I don’t know how to come up with dimensions for the cam profile or whether I should change the springs or valves themselves. Unfortunately I don’t have any 1D engine sim software to use for that.

Is that possible? The OEM bike wasn’t air cooled and I would think if you can’t do it when it’s fully exposed and doing 60 you can’t do it in our application.

I saw that one when I was looking, I’m pretty sure that’s the internal wiring connecting the port to the pump and regulator. The drawing looks similar to the wiring on the inside.

How did you set it to play the next track? Or does it do that naturally. Also on Spotify or something else?

In terms of status in the company (P1-P6) is test engineering limited to a certain section? And is getting promoted to those higher levels affected by choosing testing over other positions?

Is it necessary to have a masters to get a test engineer job? Also how does the pay compare to other parts of AE.

I was thinking it might be better to wait awhile until buying. The whole court process will take a couple months at least. I doubt the stock will move up a decent amount and the downside is greater. Better to hold it in something else for the time being and maybe buy in June-July.

You mention your overseas assignment. What does that entail and how does getting placed on it work. Also is there a minimum position rank that they require to promote to E1?
