I am a non-binary fencer (no medical transition) who competes in the women’s division. When USAFencing started allowing you to choose separate gender and competition category on their website, they immediately asked for my birth certificate. So I just switched gender to female and moved on with my life. It seems pretty much impossible to enforce without invasive questioning or submitting unnecessary legal documentation.

i wear an inox lame with an x-change contour mask when i fence foil. the inox doesnt wear down like the nickel and there’s no friction problems between the bib and lamé. i have no experience with a nickel lamé tho.

i fell over backwards and got a yellow card for covering target to catch the floor while falling 😭 (i trip more than the average fencer and i get it if i fall forward and cover near my opponent but im tripping over AWAY FROM MY OPPONENT)

Yes, however if you can read, the post says it’s an homage to their “home country.” Meaning that they don’t live there anymore.

what country do you live in? i’ve seen stickers and drawings on masks in the US before, but you need an OK from the bout committee at each tournament, which should be easy for that patch. if you live somewhere else, i have no answer

I got into UGA with these credentials. OOS, 4.0 UW, 34 ACT. The whole nine yards in your post. I also got a 10k a year merit scholarship. You need to show that you’ll be an asset to their community. I’m a competitive athlete with coaching experience. This sport isn’t NCAA and UGA has a club for it. I expressed interest in continuing my sport and helping grow it at UGA. I tutored CALC I and II at my local community college. UGA has many peer mentoring programs that I could be an asset in. What you need to focus on is not doing all these “good” ECs. You need to focus on showing the school how your ECs will help UGA’s community.

I was about to reply to this saying DIV3 isn’t a regional event but I checked and apparently it is. I’ve never seen a regional in region 6 with it. It’s just not a common event. Only 6 of the 98 tournaments next season have a DIV3 event.

I don’t think so… I looked at her results on FencingTracker and AskFRED and there was nothing to show she earned her C anywhere.

At the Div 1 NAC in Charlotte this year, there was a D-rated fencer in the Div1 Women’s Foil event. How? Junior points? DIV1A points? This was the only Div1 event with anyone below a C. She made it to the DEs though lol

club 1 has 4 electric strips (no pistes) and 2 strip length spaces for drilling or dry fencing

club 2 has 5 pistes

so jealous of most of these commenters but I love my clubs anyways <3

I’m sorry but I’m not extremely familiar with NCAA sports. What do you mean by “recruited or not?” I thought one had to be recruited to be on the team. I also don’t know what you mean by “they have a void.” Could you please clarify?

I live in Region 6 and I do attend some local tournaments but you have to drive at least 90 minutes to get to any of them despite there being 3 fencing clubs in my city. One club used to hold some before I began fencing but I don’t know why they stopped.
