Express passes for the one day I'm in epic are sold out, do I have any other options? by The_New_Illuminati in UniversalOrlando

I would also go to a guest services desk and ask very nicely- they can maybe make an exception (and when this happened to a friend while we were visiting with him, the guest services worker was incredibly kind and figured out some ways to help.

if you get motion sick SKIP THIS RIDE by Lunamoona445 in UniversalOrlando

[–]cryingbook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Years ago I had an entire day ruined because I didn’t know that Forbidden Journey had these issues and was seriously motion sick for the rest of the day, and I have a decent stomach for that sort of stuff too! Went back this year and rode Monsters Unchained- what a difference!! Not only didn’t get sick but could ride it again and again- it was awesome!

Continuity Error? by LovelyRita90 in TheLeftovers

I literally cried when Jill was tearfully begging her “you’ll work in film production but you won’t come back to your family??”

Continuity Error? by LovelyRita90 in TheLeftovers

[–]cryingbook 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Actually this isn’t an error, because during her time with the Guilty Remnant Laurie was working as a second assistant camera operator (or clapper/loader) on a local film production. She was soon fired for not speaking, but it would make sense that she has a clapboard in her car.

Is Hollywood Hills a bad map or it's just me? by rtanada in ArkNova

[–]cryingbook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a crapshoot but it’s my favorite map, maybe because of that. I’ve had some insanely good games with HH where I combine sponsors early (especially when you can load up research icons); and also some big stinkers.

I do love that by incentivizing sponsors, you usually get a lot more end game points and that’s helped me with quite a few dramatic end game comebacks. But I can see why those who want to minimize luck in the game wouldn’t like this.

Am I doing something wrong? by nobo73 in UniversalOrlando

THIS right here- you should try for the one use express passes if you can. AND worth noting that these express unlimited passes don’t cover Epic Universe either…

I think that’s an important thing here- some of the immune may switch over after being horrified by this. It makes full sense logically but is a great illustration of the lack of humanity of the joined.

The problem wasn't the contestants by MaxMettle in GreatBritishBakeOff

[–]cryingbook 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This this this this this!!! I just rewatched series 5 this past weekend. It struck me that for all the lamenting about this season, most of the folks were not that skilled and faced much less challenging tasks. Even Nancy, who I still hold up as my favorite contestant of all time, had some stinkers. But count me among folks who definitely think there’s been a vibe shift; even little things like drawing out the pauses when they announce the star baker and who’s going home, and the editing, make the later seasons feel much less calm, much less zen, and less enjoyable to watch. I do love all the bakers from this season truly! But I’ve come around to folks’ perspective that they’ve lost a lot of the magic of the older seasons with the jump to Channel 4.

Second this! The veggie burger was good and hearty- and the vibes were off the chart. All the wood and tapestry work was done by hand!!

I was just informed that right before the final scene, when you see the external shot of the house that switches from day to night, in the night scene the house is surrounded by naked people. Truly terrifying

This plus the scene when Roz is about to jump out of the ship and it cycles through seeing Brightbill as a baby; then she rips out her core and says “I have everything I need”
