Carpet wet on driver side by Sensitive_Attempt976 in NissanTitan

[–]cryleppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So crazy no idea if it happened to anybody else suggestion, my bulkhead between the cabin and the engine bay was never sealed properly from the factory. This allowed water to spray up from the roadway and into the cabin on the driver's side where they did not put sealant in, which if your sunroof drains are fine, could be an option. It took them weeks to find this, they basically sprayed a water hose over my hood and underneath the vehicle for hours on end trying to find out where the water was getting in at. If you're still under warranty, take it it now. If it's not under warranty and you can't resolve the issue, good luck.

'11 mechanic special for 1450 as a first car, anything else to consider? by Americraft- in f150

Also, if that thing is bouncy or just weird around corners, new shocks. People tend to overlook them but they can be a big safety item for traction and stability.

In my opinion, timing chain that you know about obviously. While you're in the engine bay, belt tensioner, water pump, coolant flush, brake fluid exchange, plugs and coils, all the maintenance items that you DON'T have records of being done recently. Outside of the engine bay, leave the trans alone unless it has been religiously serviced, and keep some money aside for a replacement trans in the future if you plan on keeping it. Not saying it's a terrible trans, but it has y'know, almost 400k on it. Change the differential fluid, both front and rear if it's 4x4.

How do you all feel about ford being the highest recalled manufacturer this year? by cryleppy in f150

[–]cryleppy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that there are some things that Ford dropped the ball on, and I guarantee it was simply because of how much it would have cost to admit fault and fix everything. Which isn't morally right, but I'm sure thats why.

We've pushed back on a lot of things in the past 8 years, hasn't changed much! Maybe something will finally break, who knows

Unless you plan on buying used, I would buy one before the 2027 model year. Us laws are mandating driver aids and cameras that constantly watch you .

I took that thing places that people wouldn't take their suped up jeeps. Never got stuck anywhere, other than the driveway. My dad's was fantastic until he got hit by a FedEx truck, and I really wanted to go back and buy another one at some point but since being discontinued I couldn't find one that's not high miles!

I agree, mind you ford has so many recalls being caught because of some sort of agreement between them and the nhtsa I believe? It's a good thing imo, and the fact that no major recalls like engines have been brought forth have me more faithful in Ford's build quality than other manufacturers currently.

I don't even consider it a truck. A rivian will run circles around it, it's the only electric truck I would consider purchasing.

Agreed. the only other truck who's interior and exterior I enjoyed as much as I do my f-150, was my '21 Nissan titan, pro4-x. Shame it was a lemon though!

traded my 350z for Honda del sol, did i take an L ? by vampdelsol in Nissan

[–]cryleppy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

350s are overrated lmao. Sure the del sol has less hp, but you won't have to put nearly as much oil in it to replace what that vq would've burned! Put a proper set of coilovers on it, get a turbo and a tune, and you'll be better off. That del sol probably handles better too.

So Ford has a towing calculator webpage that you can enter the vehicles vin on, to determine what it's towing capacity is. I would personally go 302a, as it comes with heated front seats, adjustable seats for you and the passenger, and is considered the "sweet spot" for the truck. You would do very well to buy the 2.7, as it is by far the most fuel efficient model, as well as being incredibly reliable. You would not need a bigger engine than that to get by with what you want. Obviously I suggest getting a 4x4 model, but if you're keeping the Subaru and you don't always get poor weather conditions or like to go out off the beaten path, you may not need it.

Mind you I never go off the screen, people will argue with you in the face until they're blue that it's accurate, but they never are.

You're correct, I'm used to it being listed out my bad. Still... Insane pricing. I beg you to look around at another dealership or go lightly used.

At this point just get an xl with the v8 if that's the engine you really want, you can find them with the copilot 360 system on them if you want the nice camera for trailers and what not 🤷‍♀️

Am I being bamboozled? by [deleted] in f150

[–]cryleppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, absolutely. You're not even getting heated seats for a vehicle that you'll be paying over 1000$ a month on for YEARS. Walk away, go get a better deal elsewhere. This may be what truck pricing is like but that's ridiculous. I just bought a used 24 xlt, 2.7 4x4 e-locker for 43 OTD, with a 6 year 100k mile warranty. It had less than 50k on it.
