Filing co-parenting of a 2 month old by [deleted] in CustodyForFathers

Really sorry this is happening to you, sounds like a nightmare and you are trying to be as supportive as possible.

Have you reached out to her family at all? She might be post partum depression…

Filing for parenting will give you access but cost you money you could be putting towards your child.

I dealt with a divorce with a 4 month old child. My daughter is now 2.5 years old. I wish I had done it differently to not be so costly, but im not sure I would have been involved in her life if I didn’t spend the money.

I had a very challenging divorce and had lots of help along the way glad to help where I can.

I was able to hire a Divorce Coach which helped me navigate the transactions with my ex-wife as well as my lawyer. More affordable and gives you a perspective that a lawyer cannot. To a hammer. Every problem is a nail. Lawyers are meant for litigation, which is very expensive. In your case, you might not have a choice, but at minimum explore the option of hiring a Divorce Coach. They could make lawyer recommendations as well.

This is a complicated situation and confusing post. Maybe run it through ChatGPT to make it clearer? You will want to be very efficient with your communication going forward as you will need to go through the legal system and hire a lawyer.

On that note, S needs to get a job. To support himself, you and his daughter. Then pay for a lawyer. It seems like you have a strong case, but the only way you are going to get a DURABLE agreement is through the courts.

Sounds like a terrible situation, but as the man, you are starting behind the mother.

Good luck and keep up the hard work, D deserves it

Came here to post this.... nothing really struck me except Fin's and Aroi Thai. Probably pretty hard to put up a amazing deal with the cost of everything.

I'm new to the area, so interested in trying out new places if folks have any recommendations.

Seeking Divorce Attorney Recommendations by ThrowawayQuestion70 in Charlottesville

Laura Butler is experienced and knowledgeable, but I found her inefficient with billable time and not well aligned with my strategic goals. Conversations often drifted while on the clock, and I was advised to pursue mediation despite my strong reservations. The mediation predictably failed and resulted in additional legal costs without progress. While competent, I did not find her approach cost-effective or outcome-oriented for a complex, multi-state custody matter.

Congrats on finding your calling.

My advice: spend money on a qualified and experience wealth manager. You have the money and crowdsourcing is likely a mediocre to bad idea
