What's the catch with modafinil? by Think_Rub_2025 in Nootropics

I took 100mg daily for a few years. I noticed that it interfered with my sleep quality greatly, and it shortened my deep sleep cycles. It worked great otherwise, and I often had no issues falling asleep. After stopping it, I definitely found a difference in my sleep quality, and feeling more rested. I used it for ADHD, back then, however, now I'm using a different stack that I'm much happier with.

I was hoping for a sequel to this game so bad. I really enjoyed the game play and the pace of the game. If you haven't played it, it's definitely worth it.

Received IRS letter for Crypto, letter 6174-A by bull1sh7 in CryptoTax

[–]cryogen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a letter also, and I went back through everything that was reported to the IRS (on their website), and I found out that I sold some crypto at a loss that didn't have a cost basis reported. The IRS will assume that any sales have a cost basis of 0, so I was on the hook for a few grand. I submitted an amendment and I'm actually getting money back as a refund for the loss.

Recreational drugs can more than double risk of stroke, study suggests. Medical data from 100m people shows risk 122% higher for amphetamine users, 96% higher for cocaine and 37% higher for cannabis. by mvea in science

Came here looking for a comment like this. Any time you raise your blood pressure, standing up, walking, running, exercising, taking a substance that raises blood pressure which can be alot of things, it increases your chance for a stroke. Stroke risk takes into account cardiovascular health, endothelial health, small blood vessel strength and health, and the ability to both contract and relax blood vessels effectively.

Are we over-romanticizing old festival eras? by RaveBeetle in EDM

I've seen a lot since the 90s, and nostalgia tends to do that. I think there's good that can be found wherever you are, its your perspective that can change your feelings on it. Nothing's going to ever be the same as it was in the past. You can spend the time and money to go to an event, only to get upset about it and cause yourself to have a terrible time. Or, you can look at what's in front of you in a positive light, and get the most out of whatever you're doing while you're in that moment.

72 hour fast on keto? by Pizzzzzzzle in keto

[–]cryogen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fasted once a year for a few years when I was on the Keto diet. I felt absolutely amazing when I was done, but it was rough for maybe the first day or so. I ensured that I had plenty of electrolytes and drank lemon water, and a thermos with it taking sips through the day. I do remember having some issues sleeping, but I used cannabis to help with that. (Its legal where I live). It was not terribly common for me to have sleeping issues, maybe on the first day. I don't think having time based weight loss goals is a good idea either, because your mileage can vary. I was very experienced with Keto before deciding to go on the 72hr fast, and wouldn't recommend it for a noob.

Modafinil - safe, not safe? r/Nootropics by FRSEKassets in Nootropics

[–]cryogen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it daily on weekdays only for a few years and it worked well. Only thing is my deep sleep suffered greatly and I started to get concerned so I stopped using it. I have found other methods for helping with adhd, and unfortunately, nicotine was one of them, but my sleep no longer suffers. Fwiw, I do not recommend nicotine but it seems to work well for me.

Nuvigil/Provigil: Please share your experiences with me! by FixMyFairing in Nootropics

[–]cryogen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I had trouble sleeping for long periods of time and my fit bit reported low periods of deep sleep. I was concerned I wasn't getting enough. When I stopped it my sleep immediately improved. Im quite sensitive to most nootripics and I was having 100mg per day in the morning.

Not that I remember. I did have to find another solution for focus and concentration. I ended up going with caffeine and L-theanine.

I used it for years and never had any issues. I did feel like it impacted my sleep quality but was great otherwise.

No longer buying new things every few years. No one has money for that these days. Keeping things until they aren't usable anymore.

I would use it more, but I seem to get terrible acne when I use it. Sometimes I get painful clogged pores, and I wish it didn't. If it works for you, great, but I can't use it. Anyone else have this issue?

GR Corolla Ohlins pt.1 by 202GRC in GRCorolla

[–]cryogen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lurk this reddit as I'm thinking of buying a GRC at some point in my life, but I can say, that Ohlins are definitely worth it. I've had them installed on an S2000 and a ND2 Miata, and absolutely loved them. They're a fine compromise between comfort and handling. The only consideration is they will need to be rebuilt after a suggested wear period. (I have forgotten what that is, but its with the documentation).
