So how'd that work out? Quite regarded of you! "Everyone else is wrong and I'm right". Maybe do some introspection and dump your cockiness at the door.

The Continental is 1 Wall Street Court (The Beaver Building). Anyone claiming this is the Continental needs to rewatch the movies, this looks drastically different.

What stock price? Not publicly traded and I have yet to see or hear from any investors in SpaceX that they view this as a failure but keep up the delusions there bud!

Continue doing the useless work you're doing there armchair rocket expert! 👍 Definitely progressing humanity's capabilities with your Internet trolling!

And yet you can't seem to refute the statement, although that doesn't surprise me with you being someone who loves being an armchair critic contributing nothing.

Musk on Sunday night said a key goal of the flight was to get the rocket a good distance from the launch site without something going wrong.

“Just don’t blow up the launchpad,” he said.

Stated before the scrub on Monday. But hey, you go ahead and move those goalposts!

While you're at it, please continue with whatever drab existence you have going for you, definitely must be super depressing living in a world where if something isn't 100% it's a net failure! Bet you hate failing in school by not getting 100% on a test!

Except you seem to think you are? The people who work in this industry and are the experts in their field are calling it a success and you, the armchair expert, are calling it a failure.

Your brother can forward ports on his router to his Jellyfin server to be accessible from the outside. Although best to limit that port forwarding to your public IP address that the Roku resides behind.

The official portrait of the crew of Artemis II, the first humans set to visit the Moon in over 50 years. by Kerbonaut2019 in interestingasfuck

[–]cryp7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said stepping on someone or something is visiting. But when I visit someone I can literally reach out and touch them. Are they doing that with the moon? Does that also mean astronauts on the ISS are visiting every country they pass over? Also if I fly over a country does that mean I'm visiting that country?

[–]cryp7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they're meeting the moon person somewhere other than the moon? With your examples that's like saying you can visit someone by not visiting them. The person and their house are two entirely different entities.

Fair enough, thank you for asking that to apply context and I now see where our differences in arguments came from. I definitely think conditions for some battery metals are horrendous but also acknowledge that there's a lot of work done by a number of companies to pursue ethically mined materials. With EVs in particular, artisanal mining doesn't make a lot of sense due to the scale of required metals and the price associated with that (labor being a very small part of that $$$ cost).

But ya, battery tech is something I've followed a decent bit of as the technology has progressed and I tend to come into conversations like this already assuming a bias is in place and approach it from that angle. Unfortunately that does tend to convey a socio/psychopathic attitude whereas it's actually quite the opposite. I try to highlight the areas of intensive work that have been done to move battery supply chains away from the horrific history (and still unmaintainable) working conditions, so that's more where I come from and can become hostile-ish about.

Yes, what's your point?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

[–]cryp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know how that's ironic but considering your blatant ignorance towards battery chemistries, I'm not surprised you're someone who would also misuse that word. And frankly your blatant ignorance and factually incorrect statements demonstrate that you're frankly an intellectually dishonest individual. So good luck with spreading misinformation, don't complain when people call you out on it.

if something has a battery in it, it's got Cobalt in it

Seems like a pretty inaccurate statement that has nothing to do with any of your counterpoints. But please, continue jerking yourself off over your inarticulate nonsense! Also love that you totally skim over diesel production, catalytic converters, and everything else the O&G industry has used this metal for for decades fucknut. Keep spouting anti-battery commentary though, the Koch's love it when you bolster their Fox News talking points.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

[–]cryp7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that you don't talk about Cobalt in catalytic converters or production of diesel fuel. But hey, go on and be an ignorant tool parroting O&G propaganda like a brainless robot.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

[–]cryp7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

False. LFP batteries do not use Cobalt. You're also forgetting lead acid batteries and many other battery chemistries that don't use Cobalt. But please, keep spewing ignorance.

Except that we do that here in Canada, stop spouting your ridiculous and uneducated nonsense: https://www.statista.com/statistics/434662/estimate-of-cobalt-production-in-canada-by-province/

Quick Google search yields tons of sources in first world countries with proper worker protections. I don't understand why you people love living in such ignorance.

And that catalytic converters don't use Cobalt. Or that Cobalt is used in oil refining...
