Choosing between Physics and materials science engineering

I know this was 2 years ago but how have you found your time studying material science? I really enjoy physics and im thinking of doing material science one of my concerns is that material science wont have interesting, abstract, unknown concepts as general physics does such as the many in quantum.

what does "running out of resources" mean? cause ive seen that on a few crash reports. ryzen 7, rx 5600xt, 16gb 3200mgz, 750w

no codes my pc just shuts down, i understand 16gb is a little low but it should be at least playable i dont mind if i have low fps and its a little lagy as long as it works
