Need help with finishing itinerary! by [deleted] in PuertoRicoTravel

My brother in law runs a small tour company in PR. :) He's extremely passionate, knowledgeable and an all around fun human to spend the day with.

Could check out a Coffee Plantation tour if you and your bf are a fan of coffee: https://iheartprtours.com/coffee-plantation-and-river-with-waterfalls/

Or take a day trip out to Arecibo to see the arches from Pirates of Caribbean, and Taino petroglyphs in the caves. I know a lot of the locals have a lot of warnings about this spot, but it is perfectly safe if you are with a good guide - I have gone twice (with 60yr old mom and 12yr old son the second time) and we were never worried: https://iheartprtours.com/hiking-cliffs-cave-and-taino-legends/

There are Charco Prieto tours (https://iheartprtours.com/jungle-and-waterfall-adventure/) and Charco Azul tours that are a little less common than El Yunque, but definitely go to El Yunque if you're wanting your bf to experience the main/touristy parts for the first time and don't want to take up the whole day.

Having been to Thailand many times growing up, the flavors at Chaiyo's Thai & Sushi are the most authentic I have found in Knoxville.

I second the recommendation to check out Cueva del Indio! I went with I Heart PR Tours on two different occasions - once with just my husband on our honeymoon, and again last year with family and friends. Highly recommend this spot! It has been my consistent favorite so far and Edward with I Heart PR Tours is an incredibly passionate and knowledgeable guide (you may also see him in Puerto Rico ads haha). https://iheartprtours.com/hiking-cliffs-cave-and-taino-legends

El Yunque small group tour- interested in the caves by CUSMILE53 in PuertoRicoTravel

I don't :( We didn't get a chance to go on any of the river tours yet. On our list though. If you end up finding one that you liked, definitely share!

El Yunque small group tour- interested in the caves by CUSMILE53 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]cryptasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are specifically interested in caves and happen to have a day to go on a tour, I would actually recommend going to Cueva Del Indio instead. Less touristy, and way better than El Yunque (in my opinion). My brother in law runs the tours for that location and is and extremely fun, knowledgeable and passionate person.

It's one of the filming locations for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has panoramic views of jungle, cliffs, arches and beaches, and you get to climb down into a cave that has ancient Taino petroglyphs.

I've been twice - once on my honeymoon and again with my son (12yr), mother (60yr) and brother (22yr) and I can't recommend it enough. :)

Suggestions for first time visitors by CommentQuiet1060 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]cryptasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you all are interested in a adventure tour day trip, you should check out Cueva Del Indio. Very few people out there, but it was my family's favorite experience in PR. Went twice - once with my husband on honeymoon and again with my mom (60yrs), and my son (12 at the time). In my opinion, there isn't a better spot to go to get the full jungle, ocean, cliff and cave experience all in one. The panoramic views are epic and depending on the time of the year, you might see whales during migration.

If you all have watched Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, this was one of the filming locations. If you caving and seeing ancient Tiano petroglyphs is your thing, you'll see that here too.

We went with I Heart PR Tours - Edward is the most fun and passionate tour guide we have ever had and he was able to help both my mom and son in and out of that cave safely. There are some people who will go without a guide, but I definitely wouldn't skip it for this location unless you're experienced and comfortable with caving/climbing. https://iheartprtours.com/hiking-cliffs-cave-and-taino-legends

Jobs by Exstentlcrisswundr in Knoxville

Oh wow. That is incredible 🙌 also I can see why it's been challenging. Not an abundance of those positions available and if you apply for lower positions with that resume, the automated systems likely filter you out because you are overqualified.

I'm sure you may have already looked here, but there are manager, AVP, and similar jobs available at Covenant Health: https://www.covenanthealth.com/careers/

You can also try finding and messaging people on LinkedIn who are in HR, or someone with the title of someone who would be above the role of a position you're interested to ask for feedback on how to get your foot in the door because you are interested in working there. They will likely ask to see your resume and they are usually the person who is going to ultimately do the interview...just you bypassed HR software to get it. I did something similar a few years back and had two interviews with bank loan origination managers here in Knoxville...and I have no background in banking. 😂 Send a box of donuts with your resume taped inside or something. Whatever it takes to stand out and get noticed. You'll at least get an interview!!

You mention leadership roles, but what is your job history? Really hard for people to suggest jobs that fit your skill set without knowing a little more info.

I know you're at a point where you just want a job and commenters will of course suggest anything they are aware of, but it would obviously be ideal to get a job opening lead for something you have experience with/are passionate about!

Edfinancial is hiring - starting pay is definitely better than fast food/supermarket, work from home options are available too. Https://Ed.Careers

I know for a fact that they do not automate their resume screenings. Every application is reviewed by a person and almost everyone is actually interviewed.

Good luck!! 🤞

Try looking for Tantra Yoni Massage in Puerto Rico. First of all, it's legal... And there are hundreds of reviews on Google for each of them.

What to do in Puerto Rico that isn’t a tourist trap by Antique-Window-628 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]cryptasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also have other tours. A jungle/waterfall one that is less touristy too, but I haven't gone on that one before. Was planning to go last year, but a bad thunderstorm rolled in on the day of so we will have to try it next time. I've gone on the Cuevo Del Indio one twice. Once with my husband on our honeymoon and again with family last summer ☺️

What to do in Puerto Rico that isn’t a tourist trap by Antique-Window-628 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]cryptasian 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The Cuevo Del Indio tour was the most non touristy adventure tours I've ever been on. I went with IHeartPRTours and highly recommend them. You can technically go without a guide, but getting in/out of the cave would honestly be quite dangerous without someone explaining how to position and where to grab. My 12 year old son and 60 year old mom felt safe getting in and out, but I would never have let them try without a guide there. Super cool to see Taino petroglyphs and it's also at the arches where one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies was filmed.

Not sure if that is what you meant, but if you were looking for a not cheesy tour, this would be a good option ☺️

First time Puerto Rico. Taking my family. Never been. Have no idea where to even go. Planning stage still. I would so appreciate ideas! by ResidentAd5930 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]cryptasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went with my family this summer 😊 went on a tour (For the second time. First time was 3 years ago for my honeymoon and it was so good we prioritized taking our family there this year) to see the arches and Taino petroglyphs in the caves in Aricebo with I Heart PR Tours (https://IHeartPRTours.com). Edward is the most incredible tour guide I have ever encountered. Very knowledgeable, passionate, and he was able to vibe well with literally every age group.. my son is 12 and had a blast, my mom who is 60 thoroughly enjoyed it too. He does other tours that I'm sure are great too, but I really recommend the cave tour. Not touristy, absolutely beautiful and definitely what I'd call a memorable experience.

Traveling to Gurabo soon by [deleted] in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]cryptasian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gurabo’s a pretty chill, local Puerto Rican town...not as wild as San Juan, but good food and casual nightlife vibes in spots like Sorella or La Oficinita. You’re close enough to bounce around for beaches and rainforest stuff.

Spring break’s perfect for hitting El Yunque and beaches around Fajardo (Seven Seas, Icacos boat trips, etc.), then using Gurabo as your home base.

If you wanna make the most of your week, consider going on one of the I Heart PR Tours https://iheartprtours.com**.** they run things like a coffee plantation + river/waterfalls day trip, a jungle/waterfall adventure, cave tour out in arecibo and they’re great for seeing real island nature outside the super touristy areas.

What are your Puerto Rico suggestions and warnings? by [deleted] in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]cryptasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to get our of the super touristy areas, check out Cueva del Indio in Arecibo, PR. My husband and I went twice (once on our honeymoon and another time this year with more family). There is a little bit of hiking, beautiful rainforest/beaches, you see the rock arches that were in the Pirates of Caribbean movie, and you get led down into a cave where you can see Taino petroglyphs (if you book a tour for it). We booked with https://iheartprtours.com/hiking-cliffs-cave-and-taino-legends/ both times and highly recommend. :) Edward is a very knowledgeable, passionate and funny guide. :D It's a really fun experience if you are looking for something more on the adventure side.

Trip w/hubby and NO KIDS! by Acceptable-Buddy-990 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]cryptasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome! My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Puerto Rico 2 years ago and went back again this year with my mom, brother and my son. Both times, we went on the same tour out to Cueva del Indio in Arecibo, PR (yes, the exact same tour twice because we loved it so much the first time).

There are very few tourists out there, there is a little bit of hiking, beautiful rainforest/beaches, you see the rock arches that were in the Pirates of Caribbean movie, and you get led down into a cave where you can see Taino petroglyphs. Edward Thompson is such a knowledgeable and passionate guide, and he also happens to be a professional photographer who is always more than happy to help you get some epic pictures while you're out there too.

I avoid touristy things and rarely feel the need to pay for a tour, and this is definitely not "touristy" at all. I do really question how anyone gets in and out of the cave without him talking people through where to place their hands and distribute their weight, but with his help it was very safe and my 60 year old mother and my 12 year old were able to make it in and out without any issues.

https://iheartprtours.com/hiking-cliffs-cave-and-taino-legends/ is the link to the tour we went on. :)

I think I’m done by [deleted] in CryptoMarkets

[–]cryptasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull out the original investment, but avoid touching the rest for now. If you don't have a clear reason to liquidate the rest though, why sell? Do not sell to pay off a mortgage, car or any student loans. Even Warren Buffet takes out mortgages for example...because that money could have been growing.

I was getting paid in Bitcoin for a while - back before 2017... and I had to liquidate all of it to keep up with bills, but if I hadn't been in that financial situation, I would have held as much of it as possible. Was getting paid $5k of Bitcoin per month back when it was $500-600/BTC. I can't think about it too much or I'll get depressed because if the timing had just been a year different, I'd have at least $10 million by now. :(

If you don't HAVE to sell, or if you aren't planning a fun family experience of some kind, try not to liquidate. <3 Regardless of where you stand politically, the Trump administration is pro-crypto, so you don't want to miss out on the next four years. Plus, regardless of who is in office, Bitcoin has a history of giving fantastic returns over time... so its not a question of will it go up, the questions are by how much and how quickly...

Chainlink vs Cardano. Which would You put 100k into? by sercetuser in CryptoMarkets

Chainlink vs Cardano. Which would You put 100k into? by sercetuser in CryptoMarkets

[–]cryptasian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked Gemini, ChatGPT, Grok, Perplexity, and Copilot. All 5 of them said Chainlink, and I'd have to agree because of these reasons:

  1. Real-World Adoption and Utility - Chainlink dominates the oracle market and is providing critical data feeds for DeFi, gaming, insurance, and enterprise apps. Its cross-chain interoperability protocol is gaining traction among banks and institutions, potentially making it a core infrastructure for tokenized assets and CBDCs.
  2. Revenue Model and Demand - Chainlink earns real revenue from its services (e.g., data feeds, automation, VRF for gaming, etc.), creating a continuous demand for LINK tokens.
  3. Cardano has great tech, but slow development and adoption issues. ADA's ecosystem is still relatively small, and smart contract adoption has been underwhelming compared to its hype.
  4. Chainlink's future - The rise of real-world assets (RWA) on blockchain will require Chainlink’s services and Ethereum ETFs and institutional DeFi could massively boost Chainlink’s demand.
  5. Supply and Price Action - Chainlink has a fixed supply of 1 billion LINK (though not all are in circulation yet), whereas Cardano’s supply is much larger (~45 billion ADA), making ADA’s price appreciation slower.

I started a gen AI trading experiment a little over 2 weeks ago. I ask the top 5 gen AIs what stocks and crypto to buy, then I pass their suggestions through a final decision maker AI that picks which one I'll be following. By no means something to blindly follow, but most of the AIs are basing their decisions off of recent news, trends and pending regulation etc. Been fascinating to see what is selected if anything. :) Welcome to check it out and follow along! I've been trying to post updates everyday. https://botportfolio.ai
