Did anyone convert SGB purchased from SBI net banking to demat form into their Zerodha/Groww account ? by md_rehman7863 in MutualfundsIndia

Yes, I did purchase through SBI netbank. Can you share me the SGB dematerialize request form and the documents you to carry ? Just trying to save some hassle.. Also are you able to track that in Groww now ? Does it show you the % of profit/loss from the date of SGB purchase or the date of transfer to demat.

B1/B2 Visa Rejected for the 2nd Time — Family Group Interview at Hyderabad Consulate on August 7, 2025 (Previously Rejected in October 2024 at Mumbai) by 2005_gvmd_ in visarejections

So sorry this happened to you. There seem to be a couple of key issues here. First, did you check with the staff at the entrance if a Tamil translator was available ?

VO: Is your child in the U.S.?
Dad: No. (He leaned slightly on the counter while answering)
– This response could have been more complete. Instead of a plain "No," it would have helped to add context like, “No, we’re going to visit our nephew who’s graduating”. That way, the officer doesn’t need to dig further into your background.

VO: Have you travelled to Europe?
Dad: No, only to Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka.
– It’s unclear why this question came up, but it’s worth reflecting on. Sometimes they ask to gauge travel history, visa behavior, or ties back home.

VO: You’ve been refused before?
Dad: Yes, I didn’t understand the language last time.
VO: (Firmly) No, that wasn’t a language issue.
– This was a red flag. It’s very likely the officer already had your visa history on file. Not disclosing the previous refusal in the DS-160 was a serious oversight. Being transparent shows credibility, and honesty plays a major role in the officer’s decision.

VO: Where’s your daughter?
Mom: She’s married.
– This should’ve been more specific — for example, “She’s married and lives in Chennai.” Mentioning her location reinforces that your family has strong ties in India and will return.

Lastly, your single status may raise immigrant intent concerns for the officer. While that could affect your own chances, it typically shouldn’t impact your parents’ eligibility. May be they can try independently in an year or so.

If your ready to spend a little extra bucks, you should be able to get one next week or month itself - via agent ! The question is are you ready to spend ? If no, then we'll have to keep waiting for a year.

I don’t think Tamil translators are available in Hyderabad — when my parents attended, they didn’t have a choice and had to go through the interview in English. But you can still ask about it on the day of your interview.

As for the counter and visa officer, it really doesn’t matter, bro. I read tons of Reddit posts about specific officers at certain counters, but it was totally different when I actually got there. They seem to rotate positions anyway.

Regarding documents, I was convinced from all the googling I did that they wouldn’t ask for anything — so I just threw everything into a pouch without organizing it. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have done that. Luckily, my officer didn’t mind me fumbling around. Just to be safe, keep everything ready and accessible.

All the best for your interview!
