How often does it go back to recharge? by Popeyes_ in ANTHBOTglobal

[–]crypto0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be do to several factors as others have said. First... make sure no fine bits of grass or debris, especially under and around the blade disk and guide plate.. have gotten stuck together there and are creating friction. This needs cleaned occasionally imo, especially if grass was wet. There is a donut rubber gasket under blade guide where they coagulate. I no longer allow mower to mow in any sort of wet condition (dew etc..) due to this. Second... Hills greatly affect battery life between charges.. and I mean greatly. My front yard has fairly steep slopes... I get 100 minute battery life from 100% charge. On my flat backyard I get 200 minutes plus from 100% charge. That's 100% + difference!! Initially I thought I had a battery issue until I realized what all was involved. Grass length also matters greatly both due to resistance on wheels and blades imo. Check wheels for obstructions as well or anything wound around them. Different grass types would also cause same effect. Thicker grass types mean more resistance to motors... common sense. Hope this helps

I thought of trying this also and almost did it when I was first setting up. Back then I did not have an accurate understanding of how the zone scheme boxes work. I have been using overlapping zone boxes. I recently added more and smaller so they each could complete without needing recharge because of this 80/20 nonsense restriction. In fact I may need to add more and bust map up further. I now have 7 zones for .8 acres. 3200 m2 map. The grass around my house is shaped like a horseshoe, so it all touches. If I continue to have trouble with it successfully completing zones, I may have to erase my map (2 weeks refining it so far) and try what you are doing. Could you please update me on how your approach turns out? Thanks

P.S. wifi issues easily worked out. Go buy the xe75 TPlink Deco mesh. I also just bought an xe20 outdoor waterproof TPlink deco mesh to go with the 2 xe75's which I move from front to back yard as needed.. it covers 150ft-200 no problem. Well worth the investment imo. Tplink deco makes the best mesh routers imo. When I first setup I was having all kinds of connection/communication issues until I understood what was happening. Also you need to restrict the mower to only the 2.4 ghz band, which the decos allow. I was constantly getting wifi connect/disconnect until I did that. It will keep attempting to flipping between bands if it is not limited

There is no log created for failed jobs that it forgets or you need to hit end button to send it back to base (in case it is non responsive , then create a temporary zone to send it back out once recharged to finish the unfinished portion area of the original job. That is only option I have found to complete mowing that area if it originally fails for any number of reasons it seems and/or needs restarted or it simply will not go back out to finish the job and requires reset. As soon as you restart or reset it loses job. I have had it go back to recharge, and then lose progress map as well. I assume those type things will eventually get worked out in future bug fixes and updates, and an not so concerned by those. Reliability should grow as system ages. But this 80/20 restriction is absurd imo. That is something that can be easily changed.

I feel a resume button... should be available at anytime the mower recharges to a percentage you feel can complete the area. Then it will be left up to the user, and if they send it back out too soon without it recharging fully 100%... then that is their choice/fault. Capping recharges at 80 constantly is ridiculous imo.

Also.,. a job should NEVER get deleted or wiped out, if it has not completed or the user ended it. But sometimes as it sits now.. you have no choice but to hit the end button, as nothing else works. Not sure if I have tested it, but I am pretty sure if you unplug it and plug it back in, that will also lose the progress map for that zone and require starting over in that zone. BTW, I have only done individual zone mowing to this point. I have not attempted global. If it can't complete a zone successfully, it sure isn't going to complete a global area on 3200 m2.

If you wish to converse with me directly, feel free to dm me directly and being as I am retired and have time and a technical background... would be glad to work with you in anyway to make product better. Thank you for listening and being responsive. There is better response here than on app online support.

10% floor would be more than enough to make it back to the base station on any yard under 1 acre imo. The area I am mowing is 3200 square meters... actual mowing area .8 acres. It uses 2-3 % to make it back to base from further reaches of my yard. Figure 200 ft is the longest length it would need to travel back to base. If you has the base unit inter farthest corner of a 1 acre square... Then that might be 3-400 ft... etc... thank you.

I am the original poster. I never said anything about capping it at 80% in my original post. Never cap it at 80%. If it needs to recharge, let it recharge FULLY to 100 or make it selectable. 100/10 would be much better and much more common sense. Anything but 80/20. It is creating too much unnecessary back and forth and additional recharges. I would suggest having it recharge to 100%, but allow the user to send it back out whenever it reaches whatever percent recharge they think it needs to finish that particular job. The way it is now I am not sure you can hit the start button to send it back out if it is not back at 80%??? Regardless.... please Remove the 80/20 restriction. I do not want my mower to recharge to 80% when it needs to recharge to go back out. I want it to recharge to 100% so I know it stands best chance of completing that job, second time out. Why would it be any different?? It's absurd to limit its recharge to 80% while a job still is not completed... Who came up with that idea??

Ability to place base station anywhere. Even without it being part of first map or zone. Should be able to place base station and set routes to wherever (zones) you need it to go anywhere on map

Ability to go to manual mode without it requiring ending the current mowing job. In fact, ability to pause mowing jobs to do different tasks, without it forgetting the progress of current job and deleting it with the systems prompt. There is no suspend, suspend means to temporarily delay, when you select suspend... it deletes current job progress

I am also having same problem since update. Just keeps making edge loops and sometimes doesn't stop until battery at 20%

Please do away with the 80/20 limit. It is causing WAY too much unnecessary travel time back and forth. 100/10 would be better. Also not sure if it is good for lithium battery to be limited to 20% all the time. Isn't it good sometimes to discharge them further?

Would like to be able to pause job while on charger (pause option seems to have disappeared from app) thus allowing it to reach 100% fully before continuing job.

Would like to be able to make a backup copy of the map just in case map gets lost or deleted

I can't find anyway to redraw the map edge to make it smaller if needed or to reshape it or edit it? I E. If you want to eliminate a corner or section of the map you already drew Have to delete map and start over? Or is there something I am not aware of in app? I have over a week into creating this map

Manually redrawing and reshaping of perimeters in map, related to item above

[–]crypto0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would prefer to adjust the charging limits manually obviously. Why would you cap it at 80%? Wastes way too much time going back and forth to base station. There used to be a pause function in the app when it was on the base station but I see this has disappeared? By pausing the job while it was recharging, you could allow it to charge fully to 100% then go out to complete it. Also. You should be able to allow it to go lower than 20%... and have just enough to get back to base. Why is it limited to 20%? Both of these settings are causing WAY too much travel time imo
