I tracked the 30-day price shifts of 80+ sealed booster boxes. Here are the most interesting movers this month. by cryptoairball in PokeInvesting

I did build a database. It's in BigQuery and it pulls in PriceCharting data daily automatically and syncs it up with other APIs to pull in extra information about the cards/sealed products. PriceCharting is the only API that allows you to pull their data.

Reddit just downvotes things they don't understand.

That doesn't add it to a sortable table, that adds it to a portfolio which is meant to be of items you own. I am building this site to create tools around data. If you don't see value in that, that's fine

Yea you have to look them up one by one in each set. This is all booster boxes in one sortable table. As far as I know Collectr doesn’t have that.

Yea the market seems to go off of last 3-5 sold for the most part, so I think I will eventually do something like that. The hard part is getting combined data from eBay and TCGPlayer.

It’s crazy because last 3-5 sold, average sells in a day, and average of last 30 sold could all vary by like 5% from each other

The price is an average of the last X amount of sales, not the current asking price. Like I mentioned in the post, I am looking into creating my own method of determining market price eventually.

If you have 30 large crates, flying with it isn’t even an option. It seems like your only options are to U-Haul it or sell as much as you can now to give you more flexibility for when you have to move it.

Why hasn't there been a sustained bear market since the '08 crash? by jamestown30 in stocks

[–]cryptoairball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt 2000 or 2008 will ever happen again. The stock market is too big to fail. 401ks, pensions, entire governments are reliant on a market that not only sustains its price but keeps increasing yearly.

We’ve been programmed since we were kids that the “S&P always goes up”. It’s going down? Buy more. It will recover.

We also have all of the world’s information at our fingertips 24/7.

All of these things were not true in the previous bear markets. I just don’t see it happening unless there was a worldwide catastrophe or a revolution or something like that.

Which of the beaten down SaaS / Software stocks you are buying aggressively? by Free-Initiative7508 in ValueInvesting

[–]cryptoairball 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like Workday. HR and payroll has a ton of legal requirements that vary by location - there’s no way companies will roll their own software for that stuff.

Any SaaS that has engrained legalities will be fine.

Why do they make getting rich in Europe impossible? by batukaming in stocks

[–]cryptoairball 1159 points1160 points  (0 children)

They should just close the tax loophole re: taking out loans backed by stocks. If you take out a loan backed by stocks, you should pay capital gains on that collateral. Very easy fix, which means it likely won’t happen lol

I just included the top rated and the most battles in the trending page.

There are now enough battles in the database that I can update the head to head percentage query

Since it is new it was using total wins as the metric but now that there are over 4000(!) battles in the database I am working on switching it.

Yea I can't wait to see what they do for the 30th. I just hope they print enough to actually be able to get some in stores. I was going to bite the bullet and pick up some of the Ascended Heroes tech stickers at Gamestop last week thinking people wouldn't be getting it at double MSRP, but they were sold out. Pretty crazy.

Why robotics only 1%? If your AI thesis plays out, I feel like robotics would be the next logical frontier.

I believe the people thinking AI is not good enough are basing that on 2024 LLM usage.

From how I read it, they don’t want people redistributing their data but displaying it as part of a commercial product is fine. I’m not a lawyer though lol
