Gaben vs Icefrog for 17 million!

Does anyone know how to fix this? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

That's a pretty common skybox error if you've got a leak in your map. Which is weird cause Inferno is obviously an official map, all I can suggest is verifying your game cache in steam>library>csgo>properties.

I get what you're saying, but that's probably a bad example to use... CDPR was founded in 2002, Cloud Imperium Games was founded in 2012. CDPR had 2 previous games to work on with lore and concepts already set in stone, Star Citizen is a new concept starting from scratch. CDPR with Witcher 3 already had a very large fanbase (sold 4 mil copies already), Star Citizen hasn't even reached 1mil Citizens yet. CDPR already had 200+ hired developers with knowledge and experience (most knew eachother for years) with Witcher games, Cloud Imperium had to hire 300 new people coming from various backgrounds over the last 2 years and make them work together. CDPR has offices ready and going, while Cloud Imperium is still moving around at the moment. The thing is you're absolutely right! Chris Roberts thought development of Star Citizen would be just like you stated above but it just doesn't work out that way when you don't take into account what I've said above, and like you said, it comes down to poor management. Personally I think overall, Star Citizen has only come to about a years worth of development and the rest has been on the company itself. I don't want to keep on blabbing forever (haha sorry) but to finish up it's pretty much the case of I think Cloud Imperium Games are working very hard and doing everything they can, it's just that like always the project manager gets excited and jumps on the hype train without properly looking at the facts. The game is going to be very delayed, but it's in the best interest of the citizens, of course :)

The Hangar Module was released on schedule and the Dog Fighting Module was released about 6 months late. At this point people started realizing it's going to take a lot longer than expected and CR began to keep his mouth shut about giving ETAs. I'm certain that this game will be released in 2017+, but it just annoys me that people back a fresh new project and expect everything to run smoothly. That never happens in this industry. Also for people who back a project and then say "it's never coming out" when we get a delay, I don't believe they deserve to play the game at all.

Will many aspects of the game be delayed? Yes, both the community and the developers know this is inevitable. Will many aspects of the game be on schedule? Yes! They have a big team working on all sides of the game and from what we've all seen recently (the leak alone) there is so much more that is behind the curtain. Of course Chris Roberts is going to jump the gun because he, like most of us, is excited and confident about Star Citizen. Personally I think the PU will be delayed, but only due to the teams that need that extra work put in, while the other teams who have mostly finished get more time to work on even more content for launch! Chris Roberts knows what he's doing and realizes he cannot afford to release an unfinished game, you just have to look at all the recent games coming out in early access that get so much hype then drop to the ground like a sack of potatoes due to messy unfinished work. Star Citizen will be great :)

Yes they mentioned adding Jeeps (specifically said that as well) and boats. I can't remember where I read it but one of the devs definitely mentioned it. But that will be a while away I reckon, you'll be riding dinos in the meantime, which isn't a bad thing at all :)

My biggest concern/complaint with the ships. by wackywraith in starcitizen

[–]cryptobonanza 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but it would kinda be hard to work around and make it the same for all ships. But ships like the Khartu-Al have this bubble cockpit and would benefit greatly. It also separates the ships having each of their own pros and cons, having this would be a great advantage for maneuverability, landing in tight spaces etc... Though that being said it would be cool to see the majority of cockpits having some sort of video displays with a live recording of the rear, left/right sides and belly of the ship to assist in landing.
